CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

To be eligible to enter the Business Excellence Awards Tweed Shire you will be required to meet the following conditions of entry:

1. Agree to your business being profiled in the media and members of the media and sponsors contacting you. (Creative Industries awards winners to accept to go on Put Some Colour in Your Life TV Show.) The winners may receive publicity through participating media organisations.

2. For a business to be eligible to enter the BEATS Awards, each nomination must have owned or operated a registered business for at least 12 months as of the date of nomination.

3. The nominee must also complete ALL required judging criteria questions, Work cover questions (if you wish to be eligible for the Work Cover Award) and the category specific questions ( where relevant).

4. Your submission will be kept private from other nominees.5. The judge’s decision is final and will be based on criteria highlighting the applicant’s

commitment to excellence, the nominee’s ability to present a submission in a concise manner, demonstrate best management practices as reflected in selection criteria responses and supply of references.

7. Entries must be received by 5pm August 20 2014. Organisers reserve the right to extend or vary the entry period if required, before or after the award entry period commences.

8. Applicants must use the template provided and the fully completed cover sheet .9. Applicants can only submit one entry. 10. Applicant’s principle place of business must be within the Tweed Shire.11. Franchisors residing within the Tweed Shire, as well as individual Franchisees are

permitted to enter.12. All award winners have automatic entry to the Northern River Regional Chamber

Awards if the winner is a member of the NSW Chamber of Commerce.

The winner of this award will have clearly demonstrated that they have created a successful and growing professional, education or training business and have a clear strategy to sustain that growth.

This award includes a major prize of $2,200 for a free unit of study in Masters of Business Administration with Southern Cross University.

2014 GOLD COAST AIRPORT BEST TOURISM & ACCOMMODATION

This award is for tourism operators and accommodation houses involved in profiling and promoting the local community with the overall goal of enhancing tourism and visitors to the region.

This award is for an event that occurred in the last financial year (1 July 2013 - 30 June 2014). Businesses conducting events are also eligible to apply.

This award includes a major prize of a full page advertisement in the Tweed Daily News.

2014 BEST HEALTH,BEAUTY OR WELL BEING

This award is for applicants who supply products or services and may operate within various sectors contributing towards the health, wellbeing and fitness industries who demonstrate business excellence.

This award includes a major prize of a pottery and sculpture workshop with Marie France Arts valued at $150.

2014 COLOUR IN YOUR LIFE BEST CREATIVE INDUSTRIES AWARD

This award is for any visual artist, performer, designer or other business that identifies and may operate within various sectors contributing towards the creative industries who demonstrate business excellence.

This award includes:

1. A major prize of a $5,000+ for a visual artist to be filmed as a feature on ‘Put some colour in your life’ television documentary series broadcast throughout Australia and internationally.

2. The opportunity to put together a 2-day weekend art workshop. The workshop will run from 9.30-4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday on a date to be agreed on between us. Valued at $1,000

This award recognises businesses that are working to reduce the impact of their operations on the environment and/or provide products and services that have positive environmental outcomes.

Where sustainability is your core business, you must enter this category based on sustainable initiatives and projects within your business, not related to your core offering.

2014 TWEED SHIRE COUNCIL BEST MANUFACTURING AWARD

This award is for applicants either in the Manufacturing Industry including home based businesses who demonstrate business excellence.

This award includes a major prize of a business energy assessment valued at $330.

2014 WORK COVER EXCELLENCE IN WORK, HEALTH AND SAFETY

The three Work Cover questions within the nomination form will go to Work Cover. They will judge the best responses and choose the winner. The winner of this award will go through to the State Work Cover awards.

2014 THE TWEED VALLEY WEEKLY PEOPLE’S CHOICE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

From July 21 to August 10, nominate any Tweed Shire business that impresses you for The People's Choice Award.   From August 11, ten finalists will continue in a final round of voting until August 25. The business with the most votes wins The People's Choice Award!
