Course Description Provides a specialist work-related focus, as designed to address the needs of Level 3 learners in key Business areas, recruitement and selection, financial resources, business ownership and organisaiton, stakeholders, marketing techniques and business strategies. It is broadly equivalent to one GCE.

Course Content Learners must complete Unit 1,2,3,4 plus an additional 2 units Compulsory: Unit 1: - The Business World Unit 2: - Business Resources Unit 3: - Introduction to Marketing Unit 4: - Business Communication PLUS - There are various optional units available to choose from: Unit 5:- Business Accounting Unit 9:- Creative product promotion Unit 10:- Market research in Business Unit 12:- Internet Marketing in Business Unit 18:- Managing a Business Event Unit 19:- Developing Teams in Business Unit 21:- Aspects of Contract and Business Law Unit 27:- Understanding H&S in the Business Workplace Unit 29:- Understanding Retailing Unit 34:- Website Design Strategy Unit 36:- Starting a Small Business Unit 37:- Understanding Business Ethics

Assessment ALL units of work are internally assessed, through a mixture of written and practical assignments set throughout the year which will be presented in a portfolio, assessed and graded by teachers. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Grades awarded are Level 3 at a Pass, Merit or Distinction BTEC BUSINESS qualification

Future Opportunities Some learners may wish to gain the qualifications in order to enter a specialist area of employment in Business or to progress to a Degree programme.
