This course is designed for Radiographers and aims to give users a better understanding of the most important factors influencing the quality of cardiac CT acquisition. A recap of cardiac anatomy, ECG principles, common clinical indications and patient preparation will be provided.

The importance of temporal resolution in relation to scanner hardware and heart rate will be considered. ECG-gating will be explained and related to the different acquisition modes available, the advantages and disadvantages of each will be discussed and put into clinical context. Scan and reconstruction parameters together with the options available will be explained in detail using our dedicated simulation software for extensive hands-on practice.

This course is designed for Radiographers and aims to give users a better understanding of the fundamental concepts of CT together with a brief history and new technologies overview. Both scan acquisition and reconstruction parameters are covered in detail. Siemens Healthineers dose technologies such as CARE Dose 4D and CARE kV will be explained to provide an understanding of their use in clinical context.

Acquisition parameters such as kV, mAs, rotation time and pitch will be covered and their impact on image quality and dose considered. Reconstruction methods including weighted filtered back projection and iterative techniques will be demonstrated. This course includes extensive hands-on practice allowing the principles covered to be demonstrated using our dedicated simulation software.

This course links the fundamental concepts of CT with the new SOMARIS X operating system found on all SOMATOM go. CT systems. Both scan acquisition and reconstruction parameters will be covered in detail and the differences between the old and new software versions explained. Siemens Healthineers dose saving technologies such as CARE Dose 4D and CARE kV will be explained to provide an understanding of their use in clinical context.

An overview of acquisition parameters will be provided and their impact on image quality and dose considered. Reconstruction methods including iterative techniques will be discussed together with an explanation of key parameters and their appropriate use. This course includes extensive hands-on practice allowing the principles covered to be demonstrated using our dedicated simulation software.

It is targeted at those who are new to MRI in clinical practice and covers basic MRI physics such as image formation, TR, TE and flip angle; basic spin echo, gradient echo sequences and spatial encoding. It also includes an overview of MRI safety including screening, hazards and SAR. Each subject includes theoretical know how and hands-on practice using simulator software.
