We are so excited that you are looking for a photographer and even more thankful that you are considering hiring Catherine Alexander Photography to capture your portraits. For the past 3 years Melissa and I have been blessed with the opportunity to capture hundreds of couple's portraits throughout Eastern North Carolina and beyond and we can't wait to work with you!Photo-shoots aPhoto-shoots are all about having fun. That is why days and weeks before the session we work directly work with you to come up with a vision and theme. Rather than take “look at the camera and say 'cheese'” portraits, we want to tell the story that best shows your joy, love and passion. The theme can be very simple, such as a picnic in the park, or an elaborate story line. Regardless of what direction we go, we will make sure that your photography experience is fun and free of any stress. It is our goal to maximize your portrait investment and capture images that you will cherish for the rest of your life.WWe can’t wait to meet you and hope that we get to work together in the near future!


CHOSING YOUR LOCATION

One of our most commonly asked questions is “Do you know a location that we can do the photo shoot, because we don’t?” Our simple answer is, YES! We are on location photographers, which means that we go to you. The great thing about this is that if you want your shoot in-front of the water, can do that, the city, we can do that, the country, same thing! In the end, the best location is a place that means something to In the end, the best location is a place that means something to you. When your friends and family enjoy the images we capture, they will not focus on the location as much as they will focus on you. Let’s work together to find the best possible location for your session! We can’t wait to work with you!


COUPLE’S PORTRAITS

One of the greatest aspects of our job is that it allows us to capture the love, passion, joy, and personality within relationships. It is so fun learning about different couples and brainstorming and executing photo-shoots that best fit the couple. WWe take the time before the day of the photo shoot to come up with a game plan (location, style, theme and so on) that best suits you. And on the day of the shoot, our approach to the photo shoot is: we are going to hang out, have a good time, and in the process capture awesome portraits of the two of you interacting with and loving on each other. YYes, it is likely that we will capture some “look at the camera and smile pictures”, but our main goal is to let our camera be a fly on the wall looking into the special rela-tionship shared between the two of you.

How do we do that? We come up with a theme that will showcase your relationship during the 1-2 hour session. This theme may be a picnic in the park, a game night, or something else, and with that in place you are less focused on cheesing it for the camera, and more focused on having a good time with each other. When you are having a good time, your pictupictures will rock!After the session we narrow down the hundreds of pictures to around 75 edited images. If your goal is to create save the date cards, we can help you design them if you want, and we can also create custom wedding day guest books featuring the images we captured during your engagement session.

We really strive to keep our print prices as affordable as possible while mainting a quality product that reflects your portrait investment. We use an amazing lab, PICTAGE, that is one of the industry leading printing labs in the country. Below is a list of our most popular print Below is a list of our most popular print products.

After every session we do, we upload all edited images to our printing lab PICTAGE. From there, you, your family and friends can log on and preview and purchase all images from your photo shoot.

But, before we work together, we want to take a quick second to tell you a little bit about who we are and why we decided to start Catherine Alexander Photography.

We are Patrick and Melissa Beard, and two years ago after watching my (Patrick) mom get sick and pass away from cancer, we realized that life is short, you are not guaranteed tomorrow, and that if you have a dream then you need to chase after it with everything that you have. After getting over the shock that my mother was gone, I shared with Melissa my dream, which is to bless others with moments captured in time. My dream is Catherine Alexander Photography. A business that combines both mine and Melissa’s middle names to form the business name.
