This retreat is designed for the first time retreaters and veteran retreaters alike. During this retreat you will learn the ins and outs of using the Go! Cutters as you play with the various GO! dies. You will have access to most of the available Go! dies to play and create, along with some exclusive dies that are only found here at Country Traditions. Work on your choice of many different projects with Edyta Sitar, designed for the beginner to the more advanced sewer. Bring your latest GO! projects to share during the Sew & Tell Evening Social Hour. You’ll also have plenty of time for open cutting and sewing on your own projects. It is a great time to reconnect with friends while making new ones.

Country Traditions is proudly nestled in Fremont Nebraska’s Historic Downtown District. When you step inside our turn-of-the century building, you will find over 8,000 bolts of fabric, numerous books, patterns, notions, and gift and home decor items spread throughout our 12,000 square foot building. Our store boosts 14 foot ceilings, original wood flooring, exposed ceiling beams and antique light fixtures suspended from a partial tin ceiling. In 2005, Country Traditions was selected as one of the Top 10 Quilt Shops in the Spring issue of Quilt Sampler. In 2007 we were selected as one of the Best of the Best by Better Homes and Gardens’ American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine. We were also honored to be featured as the Encore Shop in the Spring 2012 Quilt Sampler Edition. With over 6,000 square feet devoted to classroom space, Country Traditions is the ideal location for classes and retreats!

Edyta Sitar with Laundry Basket Quilts

We are very excited to have Edyta Sitar return as our Guest Instructor for the 2017 Let’s Go! Quilting Retreat. Edyta is the co-founder and owner of Laundry Baskets Quilts. Edyta’s love of fabric began as a small child, when she used her mother’s drapes for her project. If you ask Edyta, one of her biggest blessing is her marriage to Michael. Not only did she find love, but her mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law introduced her to the Sitar tradition of quilting. Edyta was able to combine all of her loves to start her company, Laundry Basket Quilts. She was a fabric designer with Moda Fabrics and has designed many patterns and books. During the retreat, we will see and play with her first fabric line, Blue Sky, from Andover Fabrics. Edyta is a member of the Accuquilt design team and has designed many dies for AccuQuilt including the Simple Shape, Umbrella, Butterfly, and the Serendipity Qube Set.

Edyta Sitar’s true love for quilting and her quilter’s spirit shine through in her classes, workshops and presentations. She travels all over connecting and sharing her passion with, and inspiring quilters of all levels. As the owner and co-founder of Laundry Basket Quilts, her work has been published in magazines worldwide and her quilts have received numerous awards. We are excited to have her back in the Country Traditions Retreat Studio.
