COVENANT CONNECT CLASS September 13, 20 & 27

Interested in joining or finding out more about Covenant Baptist Church? Our next "Covenant Connect Class” will be held three Sundays in September at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room A. Please sign up for this class online at CBCLancaster.org (click on Event Registration) or at the Connection Center in the main hallway.

Our 2nd annual Fine Arts Camp was a wonderful experience this year! A huge thanks to those that helped in any way. It was a blast, and the children had so much fun making crafts and scrapbooks, learning guitar, cooking, painting and how to build a Christmas tree out of pallet wood! Thank you for praying for us and investing in our children and their God-given abilities and talents. Worship Choir will resume on Wednesday, September 2nd! I am so excited for the opportunity to make music with the choir again. We will plan to wear clear face shields while we sing to protect against germs, so we may look a little funny! We will just be happy to be singing and worshiping together again. If you have been thinking of joining us, this is a great time to jump in. We rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:15 p.m. Please call or text me if you have any questions. Join us for A MUSICAL CELEBRATION featuring the Collingsworth family, Dennis Swanberg, the Martins, and Jason Crabb at First Baptist Indian Trail on Friday, September 4th. Tickets are $10.00. We are taking the bus, so seats are limited. Sign up online or at the Connection Center. We will leave from the church at 4:00 p.m., and stop for a quick bite to eat (Dutch treat) on the way. We should return around 10:30 or 11:00 p.m.

School is finally here. Whew, what a summer it has been. Families as you prepare to jump into a new way to do school, please know that Covenant staff is praying for you, your teachers, and the technology you will be utilizing this year. The Homework Center at Covenant is coming together, and we are so excited to offer this ministry to our families and our community. I can already see God moving, and I know this will be an incredible year of growth for those students who will be attending. I would like to ask our Covenant Family to join us in praying for Lancaster County students and teachers, and for the students and staff that will be involved in the Homework Center. If you would like to help but are not able to serve at the HCC (Homework Center at Covenant) at this time, you can! Please donate new or gently used books that are on appropriate levels for kindergarteners to freshmen in high school. You can drop them off in the Children's wing on the counter in between Rooms 301 and 302. Thank you for your prayers and support. Vacation Bible School: Hey families! Due to a lot of changes this year with large gatherings and Covenant starting a Homework Center, we have made a final decision about VBS. We will not have a VBS weekend in September. Instead, we will use the VBS curriculum for a biblical highlight each week at the Homework Center and have another special Wednesday night for kids and youth this fall using our VBS material. This makes me sad; however, I do know that long term this will benefit the students more with their walk with Christ. The VBS meeting scheduled for September 2nd is also cancelled. I am excited to see how God is going to work this fall semester, and I am praying that next summer we are able to have a big VBS celebration as in years past. I am praying for you and your family as you start back to school. Please let us know if we can help in any way.

521 Ministries: Feeding our First Responders was a great success! Thanks to the donations, prayers and help from those in Covenant, we were able to encourage and feed 180 Lancaster First Responders. Those fed include City Police, Sheriff’s Office, Fire Departments, Correction Facility, EMS, Dispatchers and Detention Center. We appreciate all the prayer and support and look forward to flooding the front of the Worship Center with Coats/Jackets for the Homeless on September 20th! Our focus in September is a Coat Drive to meet the need mentioned in Matthew 25:36, “I was naked and you clothed Me…” We are asking every family in the church to buy a new coat/jacket to be donated to someone in need in our community. It is completely up to you what type of coat you buy, what size and for what gender. We trust that God will lead each member to buy the coat perfect for who He has in mind to receive it. On September 20th, we will have an opportunity for families to bring their coats forward in the Worship Center and pray, as a family, that God would use this coat to meet a physical need, while also opening up their hearts for us to share the Love of God which is the only thing that will meet their spiritual need.

Covenant Celebrates 26th Anniversary Sunday, October 4th

Join us for worship and a meal celebrating Covenant's 26th anniversary on Sunday, October 4th! We will have Joyful Sound from North Greenville University leading us in worship with a delicious meal of turkey, dressing, sides and tea afterwards. A basket for donations will be available. Suggested donation is $5.00 per person with a cap of $15.00 per family. Each family is asked to bring a dessert to share! Since 1978, Joyful Sound has shared God's Word through music and worship. The purpose of this ministry is to introduce people to Jesus Christ, help people grow in Christ, and encourage the brokenhearted. Joyful Sound consists of two nine-member vocal teams, each with their own sound technician. Team members are selected based on their testimony, their personal walk with Jesus Christ, and their musical ability. Our own Hendrix Wilson is a sophomore at North Greenville and is a member of the group. Come Celebrate the Lord, and all that He has done, is doing and will do! Please sign up for the meal at the Connection Center in the main hallway or online at cbclancaster.org. Click on "Event Registration", then "Click Here for all Covenant Events". Finally click on the event titled Anniversary Sunday Lunch. We want to be prepared and have plenty of delicious food!
