Universal SupplyThe electromechanical types areavailable with a wide selection ofoperating voltages both DC andAC. The Digital ones can be lithiumbattery operated, have universalsupply voltage, and some othersneed to be chosen with DC or ACinput, according to the requirements.

PresetsElectromechanical devices have nopresets. On most of digital devices oneor more presets can be programmedin order to be able to provideexternal indication of the reachedvalue and to stop or reset the cycle.

CountersCARLO GAVAZZI presents the range of Instruments dedicated tocounting and measuring. Electromechanical types are suitable forapplications where high reliability, durability and economy arerequired. The Digital types are extremely versatile and offer thepossibility of measuring and or counting at higher speed and toconfigure the instrument according to own specific needs.Electromechanical can be used for pulse counting or as hour meters,the digital ones offer pulse counting, time, speed or frequencymeasuring. In connection to our encoders they can also be used asposition indicators.

OutputsPreset instruments are equippedwith one or more relays oroptocoupler outputs. The outputsignal can transform theinstrument into an actuator ifused to manage externalcontrollers such as for instancePLC’s

LCD display with LED lookDMF61 and DMF62 are availablewith the LED look LCD display. They combine the low powerconsumption of the LCDdisplays together with the goodvisibility of LED ones.

Counters

Counting PeopleStations, supermarkets, and so on, need to countpeople going in and out.In this case no output is needed, but it is importantto save space and not to lose the count data in caseof mains failure.A photoelectric sensor can be used to trigger thecounter.

Material length Controlling or PositioningConnecting an encoder to a shaft and its output toa counter which is designed to display encoderinput can give an accurate measure of the lengthof the material managed by the shaft itself or theposition of a certain machine. The relay outputcan be programmed to stop/cut the material atthe predetermined length.

Counting PiecesCounting the pieces in a production process meansplanning maintenance after a certain production, verifyingthe overall production, and testing the production capabilityof the system, in order to monitor production costs.As soon as the proper sensor is identified to correctlydetect the material. Many are the models, digital orelectromechanical, that can perform this task, with orwithout preset.

Working Time for MaintenanceA lot of machines like pumps, compressors, lifts orescalators work erratically and need maintenance(i.e.: just lubrication) after a certain working time.With an hour meter or a combined instrument themaintenance personnel just have to check if themaintenance time has been reached (in this casethey do maintenance and reset time) or the stephas to be skipped.
