STEP 1: INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIRST-TIME USERS
Clicking on the Pension Estimator button will take you directly to the Coughlin Plan Member Portal.
In the “New user? Register now…” section, first-time users must click the “Click here” link to complete the registration form. NOTE: If you have registered previously and already have a user ID and password, go to Step 4: “Member log in” for information on how to log in.

REGISTERING AND LOGGING-IN TO THE COUGHLIN PLAN MEMBER PORTAL
THE REGISTRATION PAGE REQUIRES THREE PIECES OF INFORMATION: • your identification number; • your plan number; and • your temporary password.
This registration information is provided on your Plan Member Portal welcome letter. Enter your identification number, plan number, and temporary password in the appropriate fields on the registration page. Then click the Submit button.
NOTE 1: If you did not receive a welcome letter, please contact Coughlin’s Ottawa office (click here) and they will be pleased to provide you with your access information.
NOTE 2: Since the member portal is shared with Coughlin’s benefits clients, please disregard any references to dependents, benefits claims processes or benefits documentation.

STEP 2: CREATE YOUR OWN PERSONAL USER ID AND PASSWORD
Fully complete the Plan member registration page, including phone and email address fields. When complete, click the Submit button. Remember: Your new User ID and password are created only by you. Be sure to take note of them; you will need them in the future to log in.

STEP 3: WELCOME TO THE PORTAL
You should now be successfully registered/logged-in on the member portal.
Please note that some information, such as your address, language preference, phone number and email contact information can be updated by you.
Contact Coughlin & Associates Ltd. (click here) if you need to change your user ID number or password.

STEP 4: MEMBER LOG IN
IMPORTANT: If you have not previously registered, please see Step 1: Instructions for first-time users and Step 2: Create your own personal user ID and password.
You should be in the “Member log-in” page. To sign in, type in your User ID and password (which you would have created when you registered initially) and click the log in button. A menu of available forms, data and services should now appear. Click the item(s) that interest you.
NOTE: If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgotten password retrieval” section on the website to obtain the necessary information.

TROUBLESHOOTING/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWHERE DO I FIND MY TEMPORARY PASSWORD, PERSONAL ID AND PLAN NUMBER?• Your initial registration information is provided in your Plan Member Portal welcome letter. If you did not
receive a welcome letter, please contact Coughlin’s Ottawa office (click here) and they will be pleased to provide you with your access information.
MY TEMPORARY PASSWORD DOESN’T WORK/I CAN’T REGISTER• Be sure that you are actually on the registration page and not the log in page. You cannot log in until you
have registered. Follow the steps outlined in “Step 1: Instructions for first-time users.”• When entering passwords, be sure to use lower case. As well, use correct numerics, rather than letters. For
example, use the number one instead of the lower case “L” or the number zero instead of the letter “O”.• Register just once. Do not attempt to register a second time if you have already registered on the portal. If
you have registered previously for the portal, follow the member log in procedures in Step 4.
I CAN’T LOG ON• Verify that you are using the correct User ID and password spelling. Also ensure that your caps lock is not
activated. Note: Your User ID and password are ones that you created when you first registered.• If you are a first-time user of the portal, be sure to register before attempting to log on. Follow the steps
outlined in “Step 1: Instructions for first-time users.”
I CAN’T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD/USER ID• If you have forgotten your password, in the “Forgotten password retrieval” section on the portal log in page,
type in the email address you provided at registration and then click the “Retrieve password” button to have your password emailed to you.
• If you have forgotten your User ID or your registered email address, Coughlin will have to re-set your account and issue you a new temporary password. You will then have to go through the registration process again. If you wish to do this, please contact Coughlin’s Ottawa office (click here).
I TRIED TO RETRIEVE MY PASSWORD BUT IT DIDN’T WORK• If you have attempted to use the “Forgotten password retrieval” section on the portal log in page and did
not receive an email with your password, please contact Coughlin’s Ottawa office (click here).

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD?• If you have already registered and created a password but want to change it, Coughlin will re-set your
account and provide you with a new temporary password. You will have to go through the registration process again. If you wish to do this, please contact Coughlin’s Ottawa office (click here).
I AM GETTING A “SPEEDWARE AUTOBAHN II” ERROR MESSAGE• If you receive a “Speedware Autobahn II” error message, you have likely used your browser’s Back button to
return to an expired session. Return to https://portal.coughlin.ca and log on again.
IF I’M ALREADY IN COUGHLIN’S WEBSITE, HOW DO I FIND THE PENSION ESTIMATOR?• If you are in www.coughlin.ca, go to the “Log in” menu item at the upper right of the website and select
“Member portal” from the drop-down menu located there. Then, click the Go button. This will take you to the “Member login” page.
