Cougar Creek is compromised of two separate parcels: Cougar Creek is in the Ochoco Hunting unit, and the Graylock

Butte parcel is about twelve miles east in the Murderers Creek hunting unit and the Malheur National Forest. Both

parcels have options for the buyer to apply for Land Owner Preference tags for the units. This allows for two elk and

two deer tags for each of the properties. They are both in Grant County, Oregon, an area of approximately 4,529

square miles, with the largest town being John Day, Oregon, which is nearly sixty miles northeast of the parcels.

The Cougar Creek cabin offers approximately 1,200 sqft of living space (per the sellers) and has two sleeping areas,

one on the main floor and a loft above that has room for two beds and a sitting area. The cabin is soundly built of logs

with a wrap-around porch that keeps the interior cool even during the heat of summer. Amenities include running

water, electricity, from a bank of solar panels hooked to the bank of lithium sealed batteries. They supply power to the

lights and refrigerator and power the tankless hot water system. A certified wood stove heats the cabin on cool nights

or a winter stay. A propane powered generator is onsite for backup.

A large outdoor pavilion with an open fire pit is across

the yard from the cabin for family gatherings and

outdoor eating. A garage building with storage space and

the battery room is adjacent to the cabin and houses the

solar panels for the power supply. Another structure is

utilized for equipment storage with a small walled off

storage area. Along Cougar Creek, there is a structure used

for guests that want to enjoy a camping experience with an

additional outside fire pit and shelter.

Hunting/Wildlife

The Ochoco and Murderers Creek hunting units are

some of the best units to draw tags in the Eastern

Oregon region. Landowner preference tags allow for

the owners to draw tags in the units due to the land

ownership. Along with deer and elk hunting, the area is

remote and offers many possible activities that include

fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, birding and solitude

from the crowds.
