The newsletter from 1977 states, “this event is sure to become a Macon tradition.” Indeed it has. This year’s Cottage Christmas and Bake Sale will be held tomorrow, Dec. 3 from 10am-2pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage. Baked goods and appetizers are for sale throughout the day, while free admission to the Sidney Lanier Cottage, which has been decorated for the holidays, is also offered. “I am excited to continue this wonderful tradition during the holiday season,” said Janis Haley, Director of the Sidney Lanier Cottage. “Visitors should plan to arrive early, because the best baked goods will be going fast!” Students from Miller High School will be touring the Cottage and helping decorate the Christmas tree during the sale. Historic Macon is a nonprofit organization that advocates for Macon’s historic and architectural heritage and facilitates preservation efforts in the community, revitalizes Macon’s neighborhoods and cares for the Sidney Lanier Cottage. HISTORIC MACON FOUNDATION PRESENTS 33RD ANNUAL COTTAGE CHRISTMAS & BAKE

SALE

(Macon, GA) Over 30 years ago, the Middle Georgia Historical Society began selling baked goods at the Sidney Lanier

Cottage during Christmas.

The newsletter from 1977 states, “this event is sure to become a Macon tradition.”

Indeed it has. This year’s Cottage Christmas and Bake Sale will be held tomorrow, Dec. 3 from 10am-2pm at the

Sidney Lanier Cottage.

Baked goods and appetizers are for sale throughout the day, while free admission to the Sidney Lanier Cottage,
