Pandemic Providence

In our last letter we talked about the need for “Pandemic perseverance”. In this letter we want to mention the “Pandemic Providence of God”. The title “¡Gracias a Dios!” means “Thanks be to God” in Spanish (for those who haven’t progressed very far in the heavenly language!) And of course we have many things to be thankful for. In this letter we want to mention just a few.

Health safety

God has kept our entire communities safe from sickness and accident over this past year – church, school and CLIR teams. Several members of the church and school had the Covid virus, but have recovered with no further symptoms. We are thankful to the Lord for His care!

Church growth

In spite of ‘complications’ (like zoom ‘services’ at the beginning of the pandemic), God continued to bring new visitors and members to our congregation. At present we have a nice group of some 8 adults in our pre-membership class. Sometimes our classroom-sanctuary can’t hold our group – two weeks ago 93 people attended drastically violating “social distincing” norms! Praise God for this blessing as He continues to build His Church! Pray for these people, some of whom have personal struggles.

Tons of noisy kids!

The Lord has been blessing our congregation with lots and lots of covenant children. There are five mothers expecting babies beginning this month and through the summer. Some of the new families have brought lots of children. Some of our grandmothers are having success at bringing whole tribes of grandkids! What a wonderful, noisy bunch of folks we have!

Our Church Education program is specifically designed to teach the stories of God’s Word to all levels of our membership – from the smallest right on through adults. “Church” starts at 9:30 – with singing, church education (Bible / Catechism), then Coffee Time (10:30 – 11:15 – can’t miss coffee!), and then our worship service from 11:15 until 12:30.

“Pandemic Providence” has filled our Pacto de Gracia church with kids. Praise the Lord with us for this blessing! And please pray that not one would be lost, but that parents together with our church might be faithful in discipling each one.

School news – this week is the first week of exams. So far things moving along very well. We get inspected by the Ministry of Health next week for conformity to Covid protocols.

CECRE NEWS – Many praise items!

Our CECRE community has much to be thankful for! Among the many things, we are very thankful for the response of God’s people financially. Many churches and individuals have responded to the financial needs which CECRE has this year, and we are mightily humbled by God’s goodness and grace manifested through you, His people! The level of giving and / or commitments exceeded our expectations, and we believe that things will go well for this school year. Thank you so much for alleviating this burden we had! As we expressed previously, our CECRE School Board was very concerned about survival this school year, and the support given has removed our most serious concerns. Here are some pictures of class – complete with masks and 1.8 meters between students!
