Interact Travel is the company we have used for Spanish class trips for the past several years.

Your Interact Representative greets you in the airport and transfers you to Rancho de Español, our daily meeting place. Meet homestay director and host families. All families are constantly monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide all meals - except those included as part of the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability.

Day 1: Arrival & Meet Host Families

Day 2: Waterfalls and Cooking

Day 3: Coffee Plantation and ShoppingCafé Britt coffee tour in Barva de Heredia

Visit Moravia, a popular craft center. Enjoy shopping for traditional hand-painted oxcarts and souvenirs.

Day 4: Service and CultureVisit a regional school, orphanage or day care center. Please bring basic school supplies and wear old clothes. Interact donates roundtrip transportation, staffing, and project materials.

Later at Rancho, you’ll also have fun learning to salsa.

A delightful drive through the highlands leads to Arenal, Costa Rica's most active volcano.  

Day 5: Arenal

Visit a hot springs recreational area. Swim in one of nature's therapeutic pools and stroll the botanical gardens.

Day 6: Optional Activities

Your group can elect to participate in a second service project or a day at leisure at Rancho de Español for swimming & sports or schedule an optional excursion, such as… • zip-line • zip-line & rafting combo • a day pass at a popular Pacific Resort • a Catamaran Cruise to Isla Tortuga

Day 7: Manuel Antonio National ParkEnjoy a panoramic drive along the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio National Park. Explore the walking trails, with tons of wildlife, and then spend the afternoon at a beautiful white-sand beach. Cool off and swim, or just lie on the beach and soak-in the scenery.
