As a SDI/TDI Instructor Trainer, Jack’s favorite course to teach is the TDI EDGE/HOG Equipment Service Clinic Specialty. He feels passionately that every diver benefits by having an understanding of their life support equipment.

Bob began diving in1970 with the US Navy and retired in ‘94. He has dove from North to South poles and many places in between.

Bob works with the Navy and Army helping PTSD and other handicap service members through Scuba Therapy with the Purple Fins Project.

As a SDI Instructor Trainer and PADI IDC Staff Instr. he has certified all levels. His favorite course is teaching the IDC/IE for new instructors.

Bob understands the demands of shop ownership as well as being a successful long term independent instructor.

The stainless steel backplate is negatively bouyant so its a good choice for divers wanting to reduce weight from their weight belts. For those that travel the Aluminum model is the better choice. HOG ManifoldsHOG manifolds are double o-ring sealed on both sides of the cross-bar. HOG Manifolds are more durable and safer compared to the old-style metal-to-metal seal manifolds. Our manifolds have a 180mm isolation crossbar that fits both 7.25-inch and 8-inch diameter tanks with a ¾ inch neck. Manifolds are available in 200 or 300 bar. The 200 bar manifolds can be converted from yoke to DIN by removing the included insert with an allen wrench. This manifold is our most popular since yoke, 200 bar, or 300 bar regulators can be used with it. Shock absorbing ribbed rubber knobs are rugged, yet easy to manipulate. All manifolds come standard for 3500 psi service pressures. Valves come with Viton o-rings, oxygen compatible lubricants and are Nitrox ready.

HOG Pro ValvesHOG Pro scuba valves are satin finish chrome plated brass and are Nitrox Ready. Outlets are stan-dard 200-Bar DIN. Inlets have standard 0.750-14 NPS (3/4 NPS) neck threads for use with all modern aluminum and steel SCUBA tanks and include a threaded ‘dip tube’ with hex opening for easy instal-lation. Valves have a 5250 psi burst disk. Right or LeftRight hand valves have the on/off wheel on the right side looking at the tank outlet or oring side. The Left side is the valve typically sent with new tanks.

The HOG Tech dry suit has been optimized with all the features a diver will need to hit the water, regardless of the environment. Made out of Black Techniflex stretch fabric, the suit is extremely durable, includes protective colored Cordura overlays in high wear areas and HOG skin knee pads. HOG Dry Suit UndergarmentsA common misconception is that dry suits keep a diver warm. While it is true that HOG dry suits are designed to keep the cold water from directly touching you a dry suit by itself is of little value in keeping you warm. Without the proper undergarment to trap a layer of warm air, you will still quickly become cold and dangerously hypothermic. To stay as warm as possible in a dry suit it is necessary to use an undergarment. The proper material will keep warm dry air close to your skin while allowing perspiration and humidity to be whisked away. Getting a dry suit without the proper undergarment will undermine your safety and the effectiveness of the dry suit from the beginning. Sweat pants and workout gear are not appropriate undergarments, so don’t short change your success. Like the HOG dry suits, HOG under-garments come in a variety of materials and thicknesses based on exposure protection levels. Stock and custom sizes are made to order so you can be assured no matter what your needs might be, HOG can meet them.

HOG SSU UndergarmentsThe SSU series are for divers who want warmth and comfort without adding a lot of bulk. The SSU-1 and SSU-2 utilize special 4 way stretch thermal fleece in a double layer construction. They pack up small, wick moisture away from the body easily, dry quickly and are easy to launder when necessary. Due to their stretch and form fit they tend to feel much lighter and thinner than equivalently warm undergarments. They are as comfortable as your favorite sweat suit and will be infinitely warmer and more enjoyable to use with your dry suit.

HOG EXU-3For those needing warmth over and above that provided by the EXU-2 there is the EXU-3. The EXU-3 adds an additional layer of 4oz Thermolite. This space age moisture wicking, heat retaining fabric is between the outer nylon and inner fleece layers. This three layer construction greatly increases the warmth retention of the EXU-3 without adding much more thickness than found in the EXU-2. HOG TXU-2This suit is for divers who want the most warmth when going into the coldest conditions. The TXU-2 is constructed in the same manner as the EXU-3, but achieves added warmth by using the effects of garment layering. The TXU-2 is designed to be worn like a 2-piece snow suit with a bib style lower piece held up with suspenders and a long sleeved waist coat. Steps to Determining Your Correct Dry Suit SizeItems You will need:

1. A soft tailors tape measure (Can be found in most stores sewing section) at least 100 inches long.2. A paper and pen to note your measurements.3. An assistant to help you determine your proper measurements.

a. IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT TAKE ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS BY YOURSELF4. Honesty about your sizing, a Dry Suit is a significant investment and for it to be safe, comfortable, and enjoyable to use it has to fit correctly.

How to Determine Your Size:1. Take and record all of the measurements with the provided measuring directions (even if you think you will be a stock size).2. Compare each of your measurements to the associated measurements on the provided size chart.

a. All measurements on the size chart (except Height) are in inches.b. For it to be a stock fit all measurements should fall in the range for each of the individual measurements provided on the size chart.

For Example: A person fitting a stock Large-Short Suit would have the following personal measurements1. Height: Between 5’8” ( 68”) and 5’10” (70”)2. Chest: Between 43 – 45 inches across the nipple line.3. Hips: Between 45-47 inches across the navel or the widest point.4. Inseam: 29 Inches (Critical to measure correctly, (DO NOT USE YOUR PANTS INSEAM MEASUREMENT)5. Torso: 68 Inches (Again, critical this is measured correctly)6. Sleeve Length: 32 (Again, critical this is measured correctly)

a. What if a few measurements are slightly smaller or larger than the range.b. Semi-custom alterations can be made to any measurement, this is called a made to measure suit. As a rule the following guidelines for made to measure suits apply:

Semi custom1. Each alteration to the pattern will incur (a size change up or down) will incur one Semi custom alteration charge.

a. Alterations to the sleeve length or inseam alone, or both the sleeve length and inseam on the same suit will count as one alteration.2. Measurements can be added to or subtracted from up to a total of 4 inches up or down. Larger alterations needed may indicate a need for a different size altogether, or a full custom fit.3. Suits 2XL and above are considered Semi Custom and will automatically incur one Semi custom surcharge.4. Suits can be made with differing top and bottom sizes to fit some body types and shapes and still be considered made to measure.

a. If you think you would benefit by a Semi custom fit, or Custom fit, it is strongly suggested you provide your complete set of measurements to one of our sales agents and allow them to counsel you on the most appropriate size prior to ordering.
