Wednesday 28th January Years 1-6 start school
This morning we farewelled our Stage 3 students as they embarked on
their three day camp to Wyee Education Centre. I am sure they will all
have a great time and look forward to hearing of their adventures upon
their return on Thursday. Well done and ‘good luck’ to Mr Kusa, Mr Turner, Mrs Z. Brown and Mrs
B. Brown. I thank them for giving up their own time and taking Stage 3
away!
I remind parents that if you would like to speak with your child’s class
teacher about your child or a school related matter, that you please contact the office to arrange a mutually agreeable time to meet. This
gives teachers time to prepare any information/documents that may be
required for the meeting. Teachers have allocated times during the
school week when we may make appointments with parents. The staff at
Corrimal East Public School are more than happy to speak with parents
before or after school but between 9am and 3pm is learning time and our
responsibility is to ensure the safety, welfare and learning needs of all students. Thank you in anticipation.
A reminder that our school assembly has moved this week from Friday to
Thursday (starting at 11:30am). Our Year 5 students whom have
nominated for School Captain 2015 will present their election speeches
at this important assembly.

Congratulations Term 4, Week 6 Assembly Award Recipients
Dogs at School We have some students at school that are frightened of dogs. Sec on 14 of the Companion Animals Act (1998) prohibits dogs on school grounds except where the principal gives permission. We allow dogs to come into school for special events, such as news etc only if the classroom teacher has been informed in advance so that he/she can talk with students and concerned parents about the visit. Dogs visi ng for approved visits must be kept on a leash in school grounds. Thank you in an cipa on.
Beyblades (and other toys) at school
All students have been spoken to about Beyblades at school. We ask that students only bring two beybaldes to school from home. Students are not to be swapping beyblades at school. Students choosing to play with beyblades do so at CEPSpace at lunch mes. We do not want to discourage students from bringing in small items to play with at school, but parents are reminded that the school can not ensure the safety of these items and can take no responsibility for lost or damaged items that are brought to school.
Book Club
Orders from the previous book club will be delivered this week. The catalogues for the final book club of the year were distributed to classrooms last week as we have a short deadline. This gives you a great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping! To order, fill in the order form on the back of the catalogue including your child’s name and class and place in an envelope with payment to your class teacher by the closing date. Payments can be made using cash, cheque (to Scholas c Australia) or credit card at www.scholastic.com.au/payment. You do not need separate payments per catalogue, one payment for your full order amount is fine. Purchases will be delivered to the classroom before the end of term. If you would like to collect your order from the office instead, clearly write this on the order form and provide your mobile so we can SMS you when the order is in.
Thanks to everyone for your support of Book Club this year. We certainly have a lot of students who love reading! The library has obtained many new books for free using points acquired from your purchases. Regards, Joanne Harle Book Club Coordinator
Closing date for this issue is MONDAY 24th NOVEMBER 2014
