Intership‘s Committment

Intership Navigation Co. Ltd. recognises the importance of, and the

responsibility it has, to promote corporate citizenship, environmental

safety and awareness and community citizenship. So much so that it

has incorporated Social Corporate Responsibility and Environmental

Safety in its strategic pillars.

The activities of a Social Committee, established in 2014, support and

assist Intership in its objective to improve the social environment

within the company and to promote the image of company within the

community.

Like cogs on gears, the core facets of our CSR plan fit together like a

puzzle. One activity drives another, forcing movement, creating

momentum and driving changes

Activities

Bottle tops for the environment....and charity

In addition to active recycling of PMD

materials, glass and paper products, bottle

tops from water bottles, milk bottles and

other refreshments are also being collected.

Local charities resell the bottle tops for

recycling. The money collected is used to

purchase wheelchairs for the needy.

With its contribution, Intership was able to

donate 3 wheelchairs to a charity of it‘s

choice. These will be donated to the

Theotokos Foundation.

Adopt-a-Ship

The Adopt -A-Ship Programme is overseen by

Cymepa together with the CSC, and aims to

promote shipping in Cyprus to the younger

generation.

Through the programme, primary school

children are able to communicate with the

ship via email thereby learning first-hand

about shipping activities and operations

directly from the Captain and crew onboard.

Each year, children from a local school visit

Intership to learn more about ships, the

benefits of shipping, its contribution to

society and possible careers both at sea and

ashore.

Promoting Shipping

In addition to the Adopt-a-Ship programme, career presentations are organised

annually through the CSC to promote shipping within the community.

Intership actively participates in these presentations through representation by one of

our employees displaying enthusiasm, passion and vast knowledge on the exciting

shipping sector.

Health Week

The Social Committee organised a Health

Week in the last week of May during

which a number of presentations and

demonstrations were given to promote a

healthy lifestyle.

These included presentations from the

Karaiskakio Institute, a motivational

speaker, a psycologist, an optician and

First Aid Training.

Fresh juice and yoghurts were also

offered during the week.

Activities

Limassol Marathon 2016

Employees from Intership Navigation

participated once again in the 5km

Corporate Race of the Limassol

Marathon, promoting a healthy

lifestyle as well as enhancing social

interaction between colleagues.

Blood Donation Drive 2016

In addition to participating in the CSC

Blood Donation Drive, Intership also

organised a blood drive within the

offices and with the co-operation of the

Limassol General Hospital’s blood

bank.

Through its participation in the CSC

Charity Beach Volley Tournament,

Intership again demonstrated its

commitment to promoting an active

lifestyle and at the same time contribute

to a good cause.

Food Collection

Many families in Cyprus are in need of

economic support, even more so during

the Easter and Christmas periods.

The social committee organised a food

collection for FunRaising, a local charity

helping less fortunate families over

Easter.

Vouchers for clothing and groceries were

purchased and given to needy families of

children from the neighbouring

school, during both at Easter and

Christmas.

Annual Charity Event

In association with, and to raise funds

for the One Dream One Wish

organisation, Intership held a charity day

in October. The day included a Treasure

Hunt, mini-fete and concert with popular

Greek artist, Stan.

Ping Pong Charity

Earlier in the year, a charity ping-pong

tournament was organised, raising funds

for To Alma, a centre for the early

intervention of premature babies and

young children with mental and physical

developmental impediments.

Supporting Causes

Intership donated to a number of

institutions and worthy causes during

the year. These included the Ap. Louka

school for children with special needs,

Cyprus Autism Association and the

Clinic for Pediatric Hematology and

Oncology, University Hospital in

Poland.

Furthermore, by organising the sale of

handmade crafts at Christmas and eggs

at Easter, Intership staff support an

additional two charities.

Staff Events

In addition to smaller social gatherings

within departments, several social

events were held during the year to

bring together the staff of Intership.

These included a Summer party,

Bingo Night in the cafeteria, Movie

Night and a Bowling Night.

Woman’s Day

The company honoured its ladies on

Woman’s Day. Various presentations

were given, as well as a makeup

demonstration.

In keeping with our values, a small gift

was purchased from a local charity, the

Alkionides, for each of our ladies.
