Health Careers Institute embarked on its journey in 2011 and is one of India’s fastest growing providers of accredited health and nursing education, both at national and international levels.

In 2017 January, Health Careers Institute has come under the wing of our parent group Health Careers International, based in Australia. Incollaboration with the parent group, Health Careers Institute aims to set up Indian International Skills Centers across India. We aim at becoming the preferred training partner for healthcare organisations (HCOs) across all states of India and will be offering Nursing excellence program all over the country.

Occupational English Test (OET)OET is an international English language test that provides a valid and reliable assessment of all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. The OET lays an emphasis on communication in medical and health professional settings. OET is recognised and trusted by healthcare boards and councils in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Dubai.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)

NSDC was set up as part of a national skill development mission to fulfil the growing need in India for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills. The NSDC, is working under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship with an aim of making India the skill capital of the world.

The overall objective of NSDC is to create training capacity in the country, fund scalability and sustainability of private enterprise, create a market ecosystem for skill development and meet the targets set out by the Government. HCI is an NSDC accredited training provider as an India International Skill Centre (IISC) and to deliver courses with Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) training scheme.

India International Skill Centers (IISC)IISC are set-up through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and implements skill training programmes under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PKVY) to youth seeking global mobility for jobs. IISCs are state of the art centers equipped with infrastructure to deliver national benchmarked training and certification programs. The Indian Occupational Standards are benchmarked to International Vocational Qualifications (IVQs) and includes Pre-departure Orientation training modules. HCI is the pioneer institute to be recognized by the NSDC as the India International Skill Center in Kerala.

HSSC is a “not for profit” organization created by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and leading healthcare service providers representing both public and private sector in the country. The key objective of the council is to create an ecosystem for quality vocational education in allied health in the country. As a part of the Eco-system, the Healthcare Sector Skill Council, through extensive industry consultation & participation, has developed National Occupational Standards (NOS), accreditation protocols and accreditation of training institutes, third party assessment of trainees and certification. HCI in collaboration with HSSC is the training center for various HSSC courses and also organizes “Training of the Trainer” (TOT) programme for various job roles.

The Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC)

Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE)Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) is a section - 25 company fully owned by the Government of Kerala. It is constituted as the apex skill development agency of the state of Kerala. The main object is to develop the skill of work force through specialized training, making them competitive for global industrial market.

KASE Global Nursing Leadership Academy (GNLA) is a joint initiative by Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) and Health Careers International Pty. Ltd. The course delivery in India is done by the subsidiary company Health Careers Institute Pvt. Ltd. The primary focus of KASE GNLA is to upgrade, upskill and get global placements for nurses. We assure placement assistance for all the candidates enrolled in our course.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)PMKVY is implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the guidance of Ministry of Skill development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE), with a vision of a “Skilled India.” Apart from providing training according to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), Training Centers (TCs) shall also impart training in Soft skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy. HCI is an accredited training Centre to provide training under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

ASAP is a joint initiative of General and Higher Education Departments, Govt. of Kerala. The motto behind this program is to generate more employable skills in the student population of Kerala by providing sectors specific skill training programmes along with regular academic studies. These special training would be conducted during vacation and other holidays. The training would be conducted in three levels, Communicative Skills in English, Basic IT training and Elective Domain Specific Skill Course. The programmes are developed, delivered, assessed and certified with the active participation of the related industries to ensure labour market acceptance of the programmes. HCI is collaborating with ASAP as a training service provider for Elective domain specific skill course.

Maharashtra State Skill Development Society has been registered on 15th February 2011 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Society is the Nodal Agency for planning, coordination, execution & monitoring of Skill Development Initiative of Government of Maharashtra. The society is functioning under the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra. The aim of MSSDC is to train India’s labour force in globally competitive skills. It is an effort by the State Government of Maharashtra to bring together students, youth, job seekers, employers, trainers and entrepreneurs all under one umbrella. MSSDC not only support job seekers but also provides sources of income and employment, create employment opportunities for others, produce new and innovative product/ services through cost effective methods. Accredited partner of the Maharashtra Nursing Council offers Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Points Program. CNE programs for nurses enable them to maintain global relevance in their profession. Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) provides emergency medical support and care to individuals who are critically ill and injured and transport them to a medical facility within the stipulated time. EMT-B is a critical link between the scene of an emergency and the healthcare system.

The technician should be able to make decisions pertaining to the work area, assess medical situations and perform emergency lifesaving management and also demonstrate communication skills, and ethical behavior at all times. After successful completion, the candidate will get industry recognized government certificates.

General Duty Assistant (GDA) also known as “Nursing Assistant” in hospital setting provides patient care and helps to maintain a suitable environment for patients and their families. Their key responsibility is to provide daily patient care with a focus on comfort, safety and health needs.

GDAs work in collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers and deliver the suggested healthcare services. They should be result-oriented and demonstrate basic patient care skills, communication skills and ethical behavior at all times.

Home Health Aide (HHA)

Home Health Aide (HHA) provides routine individualized healthcare to the elderly, convalescents or persons with disability and also monitors or report changes in their health status. They work in collaboration with patient carers and other healthcare providers.

HHAs should be result-oriented and demonstrate basic patient care skills, communication skills and ethical behavior at all times. After successful completion, the candidates will get industry recognized government certificates.

Nursing Career Advancement Program (NCAP)
