Case Study: Mewar Orthopedic, Rajasthan (India)

Overcome Challenges

PHS would like to elaborate a use case of Mewar Orthopaedic Hospital

based in Rajasthan, India.

To start with Mewar was chain of 5 Hospitals who had envisioned a sumptuous growth within a short

period of time for itself.

Serious lack of centralized data synchronization caused problems in

financial and clinical data management.

The local HIS was not able to keep in pace with the requirements of Mewar. The minimal number of

modules were not suiting to growth envisaged by the management.

Case Study: SMC, Trinidad & TobagoOvercome Challenges

Financial Accounting system was used as HIS application

Financial Accounting was unable to manage clinical activities as EMR or

any other activity manager was not a part of F. A.

Hospital related Billing processes like “concessions, packaging etc, was not

possible to get maintained.

Existing F. A. had its own problem & limitations.

No policy of “User Access Rights”

Achievements of the project

PALASH offered an interface to the new financial ERP to HIMS application which made even the “accountings”

well manageable.

Also the hospital specific billing with all needed features like concession

manager, services packaging manager etc, were managed successfully.

Supporting application of DMS was implemented in SMC. In cases of

managing & storing of manual files was made easy by the use of DMS.

Policy of “User Access Rights” was implemented in SMC along with the

HIMS application.

05/03/2023 Copyrights @ PHSPL 20

Impact of the project

Core need of management of SMC to have an integrated HIMS Solution was completed.

Integration of HIMS & Financial ERP optimized the performance of the

organization on both clinical as well as financial fronts.

Operational efficiency of the organization

was highly improved.

Optimization in efficiency of users along with added

quality control role.

DMS offered the digitization of

manual records giving the quick

access to patient EMR for doctors &

nurses.

Case Study: M. V. Diabetics, (South India) Overcome Challenges

Assignment of access rights to individual users

Inability to track time spent by patients at different departments

Only pre defined tests were used in the existing system. No

customized parameters could be added to the test results

Similar data could be entered from different portals resulting in redundant data. No way to track duplicate data entries

All domain details were not covered. Dentistry and

physiotherapy were not in the system

It was not possible to streamline patients for every activity to be

performed. Every individual patient and his corresponding activity

could not be tracked

Achievements of the project

Better inventory management through accurate estimation of

demand, timely procurement and distribution of medical and non

medical items

Helps in streamlining overall clinic operations through

intelligent patient queuing system at respective departments

Implementing applications enterprise wide thus creating a

paperless environment

Policy of “User Access Rights” was implemented in along with

the HIMS application.Impact of the project

Increase in revenues through online charge

capturing and tracking of billable

services

Reduced operational costs through reduction in staff required for

back office tasks

Increase in productivity and

elimination of human error

through seamless integration and

medical equipment

Improved patient satisfaction

through reduced turnaround time at points of care
