03 nights package: DAY 1: On your first day you will be picked up in Salvador from your hotel/airport and

taken to the Salvador bus station. From there the trip begins as you head off on a 6-hour bus ride to Lencois (without a guide). At arrival you will be picked up from the bus station and taken directly to your pousada. The rest of the day is yours to explore and enjoy this charming colonial town on your own.

DAY 2: Today your full -day tour is to Torrinha Cave, Mucugezinho River, Poço do Diabo (Devil’s Hole) and Pai Inácio Mountain. Your first stop will be to see Torrinha Cave, an impressive 70km (44 miles) long cave containing recently discovered rooms and galleries with rare geological formations, such as the famous Aragonite Flower. After the 3-hour cave tour, you will move on to Pai Ignácio, a mountain overlooking the Chapada Diamantina, which has panoramic views of the valleys. The ascent is 20 minutes on foot and there will be a 20-minute rest at the top to admire the spectacular views. During the second part of your tour there will be an opportunity to swim in the Mucugezinho River and also the Devil’s hole, an enormous natural pool with a beautiful waterfall. A pack lunch is provided. At the end of the day you will be driven back to your hotel.

DAY 3: On your last day you will be taken on a morning tour to the Serrano River, you will also visit the famous Colored Sands Chamber and the Spring Waterfall. This tour is an easy walk out of the village along the Serrano River to see its waterfalls – Primaveira and Cachoerinha. Wear your swimming attire underneath your clothes, because you will have an opportunity to sit under the waterfalls and swim in the river. On the same tour you will also visit the Colored Sands Chamber , which are purple-reddish colored caverns filled with multi-colored fine sands. You will probably have already seen many handicrafts in the village which use these beautiful colored sands.

DAY 4: A driver will take you to the bus station in Lencois before heading off on your 6-hour journey back to Salvador. Once you arrive you will be picked up by a driver and taken to your accommodation or airport.

Wet Season - January through March With the summer rains, as parts of the Pantanal are flooded, the fauna and flora reinvigorate and Pantanal reveals one of its most lively seasons. The main characteristics of this season are the beautiful water landscapes, and many water birds such as the Jabiru Stork, Woodstorks, Limpkins, ducks, teals and egrets. Among the common mammals we can find the Capybaras, Crab-eating Foxes, and the Grey-brocket and Pampas deer. The water plants are in bloom with different shapes and colors throughout the lakes and rivers. Also abundant are butterflies and other interesting insects. The wet season is also the best time to watch the most beautiful sunset of the year. Vazante Season - April through June In April, the rains stop and the water level begins to recede, giving rise to lagoons and water puddles. Here, thousands of fish are trapped, providing a food banquet for the water birds which concentrate in these regions. The temperature becomes milder and the night skies are filled with stars. The mammals, who dispersed in the wet season, start to come back and show themselves. Species such as the White-lipped Peccaries, Collared Peccaries, Marsh Deer and the Howler and Capuchin Monkeys can often be seen. Dry Season - July through October The best time to observe wildlife. The lack of rain diminishes the lagoons, revealing the flat grounds and aiding transportation by land. The fields begin to dry, providing vast grazing areas where mammals search for food and water in the remaining water puddles. From August on, the Tabebuia trees blossom - locally known as Piuvas (with pink flowers) and Paratudos (yellow flowers). This is the breeding season for birds - their plumage is at their best condition and their calls can be heard throughout the Pantanal. This is also the best season to observe Giant Anteaters, Crab-eating Racoons and South-American Coatis. Rainy Season - November through December The period when there is a lot of rain in the Pantanal, but not enough to flood. Due to the long dry season, it takes a while for the soil to saturate to the point of flooding.It is also a season of a great abundance of food for birds who started their breeding in the past months. It is very common to see chicks being fed by their parents.

DAY 3: After breakfast, departure to Rio Clarinho (river) riding on the flood plain ways. At Rio Clarinho riverbank, take a canoe and explore its banks, mangroves and forest. With luck, a sight of a family of ariranhas (giant otters) will be nearby (fishing,playing and teaching the babies to swim and fish). Possibility of fishing the elusive Piranha, known for nibbling the bait off the hook without the fisherman noticing. Lambaris, another species of fresh water fish are an easy catch and are delicious when barbecued. A picnic barbecue lunch will be prepared at the camp site. Transfer in two stages. The first is on a paved Road passing by farms and cattle ranches. After a stop in Poconé, take the Transpantaneira Park Road at km “0” (108 km / 67.1 mi. from Cuiabá). This is a park road at its best, passing by the flora and fauna of the Pantanal ecosystem – a photo safári with several stops along the way for photos and information. Arrival at Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge, welcome with a delicious fresh fruit juice and accommodation. After a hike to the surroundings as far as the Heron’s Lookout, a 12 m / 39 ft. high observation tower to see the sunset and the homing birds. DAY 2: A day dedicated to activities around the grounds of Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge. It starts with ride (horse, truck or hike) to see the surrounding ecosystem. Learn about the flood plain ecosystem as you go along. Lunch, dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: After breakfast, take a ride through the flood plain road to Rio Clarinho (river). Reaching its banks, a canoe to row up and downriver exploring the forest that grows by the riverbank and mangroves. Here lives a colony of “ariranhas” – giant otters. With luck, a family will be seen playing with their babies and teaching them how to swim and fish. Ariranhas are very playful in family and fierce with other animals. Possibility of trying to fish the elusive “piranha”, not an easy task. Piranhas are famous for biting off the bait without the fisherman feeling it on the line. The “lambaris” are easier to catch and will be barbecued for lunch. Return to the Lodge by sunset. Dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

DAY 4: After breakfast, let us pay a visit to a neighbor, in the best of the “pantaneira” tradition. Our neighbor is a cattle ranch, with an extensive creation of “zebu” (Bos taurus indicus of India, cross bred with a Nepalese species) and a preservation area for sustainable use of the soil. The property is in the hands of a family for 3 generations. Lunch at the farm. After lunch hike and horseback ride on the open fields. Return to Araras Pantanal Eco Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Historical Walk (03hrs): We’ll walk the streets of Vila dos Remédios, learning about many of the most important historical sites in Fernado de Noronha. Historical Walk (03hrs): We’ll walk the streets of Vila dos Remédios, learning about many of the most important historical sites in Fernado de Noronha. The palace of São Miguel, the Church and Fort of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, old homes, prisons, and the Noronha Museum are just some of the relics you’ll encounter as you discover how this region’s past mixes with that of Brazil. We’ll also take a walk down the beaches of Cachorro, Meio and Conceição, stopping in Conceição to cool off with a refreshing dip in the sea. Boat Trip (03hrs): We’ll start our trip at Santo Antônio Port, heading out towards the multitude of smaller, secondary islands, to observe exquisite rock formations and the nests of a sea bird nesting ground. Then we’ll head to the opposite side of the archipelago, passing by gorgeous beaches and tranquil bays. Once we stumble upon our own private corner of paradise, we’ll enjoy three priceless hours of relaxation and swimming.

DAY 3: Breakfast. Island Tour (08hrs): In this trek across the main island of Noronha, you’ll explore all the main beaches, natural pools and viewing points of the archipelago. You’ll see a whole range of local flora and fauna with a stop for swimming and diving in the crystalline waters of one of the island’s many perfect beaches. We’ll take four-wheel-drive vehicles across rough terrain but most of the trip will be hiked by foot along trails and beaches. A beautiful sunset will be the grand finale of our 8 hour day trip exploring this paradise.

DAY 4: Breakfast . The Dolphin Trek (5hrs): We’ll start our day by walking to Mirante da Baía dos Golfinhos (Dolphin Bay Viewpoint), which is about 60 meters (197 feet) above sea level. From here, we’ll have an amazing view to watch the antics of the Spinner Dolphins. These mammals rest and mate in this bay after spending the night feeding at sea. We’ll continue down this trail that follows a footpath along the cliff tops around Baía dos Golfinhos, finally reaching the Baía dos Porcos (Bay of Pigs). Here we’ll enjoy scenic views from the Sancho Beach Viewpoints. We’ll make several more stops to take photographs and watch the seabirds with our first being Sancho Beach for swimming and snorkeling. We’ll continue our trek along other beaches including Baia dos Porcos, Cacimba do Padre and Boldró.

DAY 5: Breakfast. Atalaia Trek (5hrs): This walk begins on Caieira Beach where we’ll walk down on a footpath of loose stones which have been smoothed out by the force of the sea and wind. We must be very careful while walking over these beautiful, but slick stones. We’ll stop to go swimming in the tide pools before reaching the foot of the cliff which provides access to the Pontinha and Pedra Alta viewpoints. We’ll stop here to take pictures with our cameras and our minds of the these breathtaking views of paradise that few adventure travelers have experienced before. Our trail continues towards Atalaia beach, with its rich variety of marine life. We’ll stop to enjoy this ideal spot with swimming and diving before completing our trek.

DAY 6: Breakfast. Lion Trek (5hrs): This walk takes in the beautiful scenery of the beaches and bays bordering the high sea. We’ll walk to the Enseada dos Abreus Viewpoint where you’ll be amazed as you look out in all directions at a gorgeous landscape. After continuing our walk through the only island mangrove of the South Atlantic, we stop for swimming and snorkeling in Baia do Sueste (Southeast Bay). This bay, rich in marine life, is an ideal spot for sea turtles to feed. We’ll follow a cliff top path and then descend to the sands of Leão Beach where sea turtles lay their eggs. We’ll stop here to take a refreshing break, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters.
