The Stafford College restaurants have an excellent reputation for preparing students for demanding roles in the UK and abroad. Graduates from our courses can be found in Michelin starred restaurants, working alongside top chefs and winning prestigious awards of their own.

As well as full-time courses providing the best possible training for ambitious young people dreaming of a future in the industry, the College plays an important role in the professional development of professional chefs and hospitality managers. Part-time courses and workshops help these people to update their skills and enhance their career prospects.

The Riverbank Restaurant plays a valuable part in the training offered by our courses. This highly regarded eatery is staffed by students, working alongside immensley experienced chef-lecturers and restaurant managers. Visiting chefs are also invited into the training kitchens, providing students with an opportunity to form an understanding of the menu, philosophy and presentational style of a wide range of leading restaurants.

Based in the Riverbank building on the town centre campus, the College Restaurants are the result of a significant investment into purpose-built facilities and cutting-edge equipment for our students. With a sophisticated setting and unrivalled views as well as superb food and unbelievable value, all the ingredients are in place for a memorable lunch, wonderful dinner or special occasion.

Seating 40 people, the Riverbank Restaurant is open for dinner at 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings as well as lunch from 12pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Advance reservation is essential and diners often book months ahead to secure a table in this immensley popular dining space. From it’s first floor setting in the Riverbank Building, the restaurant overlooks Staffordshire landmarks including the windmill, Victoria Park and Stafford Castle. Alongside what may be the finest views in the town, many regular visitors praise “The best food in Stafford” and certainly its menu represents exceptional value for money.

A set menu is sometimes offered, on other occasions a choice of dishes will be offered. It is not unusual to find tempting asides brought to the table, with diners invited to sample a mouth-watering amuse-bouche, exquisite pre-dessert or a morsel of handmade fudge with their coffee.

Meals, which are prepared and served by students, utilise the freshest seasonal ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible. A wine list is carefully chosen to enhance the menu and features wines by the bottle or glass from Tanners Wine Merchants in Shrewsbury.

The Riverbank Restaurant is open during term-time only. As all dishes are prepared in our kitchens, we can normally accommodate special dietary requirements as long as we are notified of these on booking.

Dining ClubEach month, you can enjoy a culinary experience in the Riverbank Restaurant. All of our guests will learn a new skill, having fun together with food demonstrations and guest chef followed by a delicious lunch in our fine dining restaurant. HospitalityHave you planned a business meeting but can’t think where to host it? Join us at Stafford College and hold your meeting in one of our equipped lecture rooms for a cost of only £20 per head. You can also take advantage of our catering facilities by enjoying one of a range of our freshly prepared buffets. This can be delivered to your meeting room by our hospitality team. Please take a look at the Hospitality Menu on the opposite page. In addition to the menus shown, we also offer an Early Bird continental or hot breakfast menu and many delicious extras from fruit baskets and fresh fruit salads to brownies and cupcakes. As Stafford College is located in the midlands, it is a great half-way house for clients across the country. Private FunctionsThe Riverbank Restaurant is available for private functions for between 20 and 60 guests. You can enjoy full and exclusive use of the restaurant with a £20 per hour hire charge. A lively, informal space on the ground floor of the Riverbank Building, as its name suggests The Hub is at the heart of campus life. Open to the public as well as to students, this is a self-service café with the emphasis on the flavours of today.

We go to great lengths to achieve a combination of healthy, attractive dishes and affordable prices within a student budget. The ultra-modern, dynamic eatery offers an environment that is as inviting as its tempting menu which changes daily.

In the summer months The Hub is open onto the landscaped courtyard, with lawned areas and plenty of seating for outdoor eating.

The Hub is available for private, catered functions either on its own or combined with the adjacent Bistro to seat parties of 20 - 50 people.

The Hub RestaurantThe Hub Restaurant opens at 8am to the public, students, lecturers, staff and visitors. Ideal for the early breakfast lover, there is a great range of hot and cold breakfast options served until 11.30am. Lunch is served from 11.45am until 3pm with freshly prepared daily specials, pastas, pizzas and a jacket potato bar.

The Hub DeliOpening in September 2014, The Hub Deli is an exciting new venture for the College. The Hub Deli will serve an extensive range of gourmet sandwiches made to order on speciality breads and catering for all dietary requirements. The Hub Deli will also offer a healthy drinks menu including fresh juices, smoothies, protein shakes, frappés and much more... for a theatre dining experience, your order will be prepared in front of you, as you wait.

The Hub Coffee BarThe Hub Coffee Bar is open Monday to Friday from 9am - 4pm. It also opens on a Saturday from 8am - 3pm. The Hub Coffee Bar offers fresh barista fair-trade coffee, cakes, pastries, freshly prepared sandwiches, pasties and snack pots.

The Atrium is prominently based by the entrance to the campus in Earl Street. The Fair Trade coffee shop is open to students, staff and members of the public.

The light and airy coffee shop specialises in fresh barista fair-trade coffee, cakes, pastries, freshly prepared sandwiches, pasties and snack pots.

The Atrium is open Monday - Friday during term-time (see opening times below). Limited opening hours are also offered outside term time.

The Stafford College & Lewis Partnership Foundation

The Stafford College & Lewis Partnership Foundation aims to drive up standards in the hospitality industry by providing new entrants with a model of education and training.

The Foundation offers a wide range of opportunities to students. As well as guaranteed work experience with a mentor at one of the Lewis Partnership businesses, first year students can apply for one of two sponsored positions. Successful applicants work at The Moat House one day each week during the academic year.

Top chefs from the Lewis Partnership host gala Moat House Nights for restaurant customers at the College and competitions to find the Chef and Waiter of the Year are judged by senior members of the Lewis Partnership which is also helping hospitality lecturers update their professional skills by inviting them to spend time in their restaurants.

The Foundation gives students access to superb training and valuable experience within a highly respected organisation. It serves as a training model for the industry, inspiring young people and demonstrating that their ambitions can be fulfilled.
