AlmondThe Almond tree used to have a marginal presence in Provence, until L’OCCITANE started a project to revive the traditional cultivation of almond trees in this area.
During Spring, the Provençal landscape is covered with beautiful, fragrant blossom; a gift from the Almond trees in bloom. The firm ivory nut, which grows protected in a velvet-soft green shell, is highly prized for its nourishing, soothing and firming properties.

LavenderFine LAVENDER (A.O.C. controlled origin) grows in Haute-Provence at an altitude of over 800 meters. It yields the very best lavender essential oil with soothing and relaxing properties.
L’OCCITANE sources its essential oil from farmers’ cooperatives from the Provencal town of Sault and the surrounding area and purchases almost 50% of the total production of LAVENDER in Haute-Provence.

PeonyThere is a legend, told in the Mediterranean Basin, of how a beautiful nymph, named Peonia, was so courted by the gods that a jealous goddess transformed her into a flower with a thousand petals – the peony.
