Liverpool Philharmonic is one of the UK’smost forward-looking music organisations.We are proud to be home to the UK’soldest continuing professional symphonyorchestra, the Royal LiverpoolPhilharmonic Orchestra. Uniquely, wealso run two venues: the Grade II* listedLiverpool Philharmonic Hall and ournewest venue, Music Room, a moreintimate space seating between 160 – 250people. We are located on Hope St, in theheart of Liverpool’s buzzing GeorgianQuarter.

Liverpool Philharmonic Hall has longbeen an acclaimed and integral part of thecultural life of the city. The firstHall,  designed by Liverpool-basedarchitect John Cunningham, opened on27th August 1849, and was described as“the best in Europe” before beingdramatically destroyed by fire in 1933.

The new Liverpool Philharmonic Hall,designed by architect Herbert Rowse,strongly influenced by the contemporarywork of Dutch architect WM Dudok, wasbuilt on the same site and opened in 1939.

The venue has an illustrious history ofbringing the top names in rock, folk, jazz,classical music and comedy to the city,including Buddy Holly, David Bowie,Brian Wilson, Blondie, Morrissey, VanMorrison, Brian Ferry, Elvis Costello,Paloma Faith and Caro Emerald.

The art deco splendour of LiverpoolPhilharmonic Hall was restored and abrand new venue, Music Room, added in2015 following a £14.5 millionrefurbishment designed by architectsCaruso St. John.

In 2012, Liverpool Philharmonic wasnamed Culture & Heritage Experience ofthe Year in the Liverpool City RegionAnnual Tourism Awards.

The art deco Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is afantastic heritage venue located in Hope St, atthe heart of Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter. Thebeautiful auditorium, with a capacity of 1,700,has world-class acoustics and state of the artlighting. It also features the originalWalturdaw Cinema Screen, which can risefrom the middle of the stage.

The flexible space, hired exclusively, includesuse of the Entrance, Grand Foyer, and 1840Room which can be used for reception andcatering and delegate registration.Please note, if hired with Music Room and GreenRoom, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and associatedspaces can accommodate up to 900 for a drinksreception or 750 for a standing buffet lunch.

There are also facilities for production offices,speaker rooms and dressing rooms. Ourevents team, including technical support willbe on hand and are dedicated to making surethat your event is a truly memorable occasion.

Our newest space, Music Room, opened in2015 and is situated on the corner of MyrtleStreet and Sugnall Street at the rear ofLiverpool Philharmonic Hall with its ownentrance on Sugnall Street.

This double-height flexible room has twohuge doors in the corner which can be leftopen with views into the bar space. Thewrap-around windows of the bar area arereminiscent of Edward Hopper’s iconicNighthawks painting.

Located on the ground floor, with twoadditional production / warm up rooms, it is aversatile, contemporary space with fantasticacoustics and a state of the art sound system.Perfect for meetings, seminars, workshops,parties and wedding receptions!
