A Hybrid Approach
Most students enjoy and report success with a hybrid approach
For example: ‒ Evening 1 – Cisco Press reading
‒ Evening 2 – Videos
‒ Evening 3 – Hands on practice
‒ Evening 4 – Practice lab scenarios
‒ Evening 5 – NO STUDY!

Quick-Fire TS Section Strategy
Step 1 – Confirm correct initial configuration load against diagram using loopback address (or other address if loopbacks not present in diagram)
Step 2 – Begin reading tickets from Ticket 1 forward
Step 3 – Annotate Trouble Ticket Tracker with entry for the ticket attempted; log ticket number, point value, and the perceived technological area
Step 4 – Begin problem isolation with ticket; if problem isolation cannot be achieved in 3 minutes, record observations on tracker and proceed to next Ticket and begin at Step 3

Quick-Fire TS Section Strategy
Step 5 - begin fault remediation; if the fault cannot be remediated in 3 additional minutes, update the Trouble Ticket Tracker with observations and move to the next ticket; begin at Step 3
Step 6 - Once all tickets have been attempted, select remaining tickets from the Ticket Tracker based on your technological strengths and point value of tickets; work methodically, and be mindful of the time spend on each ticket

Configuration Section Strategy
Core task versus non-core task ‒ Core task has points that depend upon it!
Attack exam in order with Skipped Task Tracker ‒ Skip non-core tasks that might require extra time and testing and/or DOC-CD usage
Skipped Task Tracker includes task ID, tech area, points, and perceived level of difficulty rating

Keep in Mind…
You were not born being afraid to take an exam
An exam has all the hallmarks of a performance
What you experience as nervousness is natural and a good thing

Keep in Mind…
If thinking about the exam weeks before causes stress, then stop thinking about it
Your confidence is built upon knowing you have prepared, studied, and reviewed
You cannot KNOW for a fact what will happen... so go give it your best!

Keep in Mind…
You perform on exam day on what you ate the day before
Eat another good meal that is easy to digest an hour or two before the start of your exam
You might need to bring your own food to the testing center!
