Ten Commandments 6Do Not Commit Adultery
RelateWhat characteristics make a good husband? A good wife? How can you practice living these same characteristics? How does God model these characteristics in our relationship with Him?
Read and ReflectRead 2 Samuel 11:1 – 2 Samuel 12:23, then answer the following questions.
What sin did David first commit regarding Bathsheba? What was the result of that sin? (See 2 Samuel 11:2-5)
What are some ways that teens “lust” after others today? David committed a second sin to try and cover the first. Which
Commandment did he break now? (See 2 Samuel 11:14-17) What happened after Bathsheba found out about Uriah’s death? How
did God feel about this? After Nathan confronts David about his sin, David repents. What
consequences does David avoid? What consequences must he suffer? Why do you think God reserves sex for married couples? What are some of the consequences associated with committing
adultery (sex outside of marriage) today?
RespondChoose one of the following resolutions to keep until the next class:
Talk to a parent or grandparent about what it takes to be a good husband or wife.
