Outdoor Drum Circle Worship and Community Picnic Sunday September 15th 1030am at the Rustic Park Pavilion 2 Birdsboro

Join us for a unique worship service that will take you outside the walls of the church where you will be able to connect with nature and experience Godrsquos worship through drumming and other rhythm

instruments Our instructor and guide for this worship will be Lisa Fairman from Earth Rhythms LLC No experience is necessary (there will be some instruments available to use)

Immediately following this service there will be time to eat amp have some fun Hamburgers hot dogs chicken and beverages will be provided We are looking for help with side dishes and desserts (We ask that you bring one of each) There will be kidrsquos games BINGO and an all-time favorite lsquoCake Walkrdquo Come as you are and bring your family and friends with you

There is an old saying ldquoIf you donrsquot think you can do it you canrsquotrdquo The point of the saying is that our mindset is oftentimes the number one thing limiting us Too often and too easily we limit ourselves by our own narrow sense of possibility Before we have even tried we have determined (and reinforced the outcome) by deciding that it is just too difficult challenging or impossible It is a mindset that Jesus regularly worked to change within his disciples He did this not because he thought his disciples were the most dynamic and transformative people in the world Instead he did this because he knew what the power of the Spirit could do within the life of anyone who sought to point their life in the direction of Godrsquos possibilities

Who would have thought that a boyrsquos meager offering of a few loaves of bread and fish could feed a crowd of several thousand Who would have thought that a dead man could be raised from the grave Who would have thought that after denying Jesus three times Peter would stand as the rock of Christrsquos people Who would have thought Saul could be born anew as Paul

It is easy to see the impossibilities It is an act of faith to reach beyond them in belief of Godrsquos possibilities

For this church there are plenty of impossibilities that any number of individuals could readily identify by simply looking at our outward appearance Like Jesusrsquo disciples you would not look at this congregation and immediately think to yourself ldquoThese people are going to transform the worldrdquo And yet the truth of the matter is we are

By choosing to minister out of Godrsquos possibilities rather than a narrowed sense of our possibilities this congregation is continually making space for Godrsquos Spirit to work and move within our midst And that work defies all outward appearances in us just like it defied all outward appearances in Jesusrsquo disciples

It is for this reason that the central call of Jesus is that of following him For in our lived lsquoyesrsquo to him what we open ourselves and this world to is the miraculous wonder of Godrsquos possibilities In our lsquoyesrsquo we discover the power and truth of Godrsquos Spirit But even more than that in our lsquoyesrsquo what we discover is the reality of the life and the blessing God has already prepared for us pour in this world

Yes the impossibilities are easy to see But life is found when we open ourselves in faith to the possibilities God is leading us in Thanks be to the God who is daily calling us to life

Yours In Christ Pastor Joe

thru May 2020 We meet from 630PM to 8PM (offered FREE to the public) at Daniel Boone High School Room 135 Birdsboro PA

Contemplative practices are known for many healing benefits that include increased positive mood improved concentration improved immune function less anxiety and depression and even increased empathy In addition there is a need for healing in our communities Many of us find conversations to be difficult The idea of making connections then finding common ground for peace making is hopeless without prayer and mindful contemplation

Our hope is to provide a safe venue where participants can engage in Contemplative Practices and conversations that may lead them to

connect with GodHigher power while connecting with each other For a complete list of classes visit our website or FB pages If you have questions contact Pat Babel 484-366-6700 or email creativecontemplativesstpaulsbirdsboroorg
