ADIRONDACK AMBIANCE TO HOST FINE ART SHOW AUGUST 26, 27Thurman artist Anne Rohe will team with guest artist Joe McChesneyof Asheville, North Carolina to present a show with over one hundredpaintings, comprised of Roheʼs uniquely-framed acrylics of Thurmanarea scenes and McChesneyʼs watercolor nature paintings. From 10a.m. till 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, August 26th and 27th, Roheand McChesney will greet guests on the lawn of Adirondack Am-biance, the Rohesʼ rustic furniture and art gallery at 792 State Route418, across the road from Thurman Station. Paintings will be cre-atively displayed along paths and in outbuildings at the farm, andAdirondack rustic furniture will be housed in and around the gallery,as well. The two artists became acquainted while Mr. McChesneywas vacationing in Stony Creek and when the Rohes visited theirdaughter in Hendersonville, North Carolina some time later, they sawMcChesneyʼs work in a gallery there and realized that both Anne andJoe gravitated toward the same type of subject matter create workthat demonstrates a love of nature and rural settings. Joe broachedthe idea of a two-man exhibit in Thurman, and this show was born.To learn more about it, call Anne Rohe at 518-623-3813 or 623-3600. Joining these artists will be Cathy LaFond-Evans, founder of “Mito

Hope and Help,” a not-for-profit organization created in memory ofher daughter, Randi, who lost a lifelong battle with mitochondrial dis-ease a year ago. LaFond-Evans will sell note cards bearing imagesof Roheʼs paintings to raise funds to provide hope and help for thoseafflicted by mitochondrial disease and connect families with informa-tion about this little-understood illness. Learn more about Mito Hopeand Help at www.mitohopeandhelp.com or contact Cathy at 623-2634or [email protected]. LaFond-Evans notes that TDBank Affinity Members program also assists this cause, and anymembers may favorably influence the size of TD Bankʼs annual do-nation to the organization by indicating to the bank that they supportMito Hope and Help. From Adirondack Northway exit 23, find the ex-hibit by taking NYS route 9 north just over one mile and taking route418 across and along and back across the river – just four miles – tothe gallery.

My name is Cheri Sullivan. I am running for the office of CorinthTown Clerk. I am qualified for this position because over the pastfive years I was employed in this office as Deputy Town Clerk. Iknow how to do tax collecting, records management, dog li-censes, elections and Vital records keeping. I have attended NYSTown Clerks Association training from 2006-2010, NYS Tax Col-lectors training, and training from NYS Archives. I have also beeninvolved in Saratoga Countyʼs Town Clerk Association, attendingseveral meetings over the past five years. I am a New York StateNotary Public. I am very close to completing all tasks required toobtain my certification from NYS as a Registered Municipal Clerk. From October of 2005 until January of 2011 I was employed bythe Town of Corinth as Planning Board Secretary, Deputy TownClerk and Assistant Bookkeeper/Secretary to the Town Supervi-sor. By working and training in all of these offices I have shownthat I am capable of multitasking and driven to succeed at anyposition that I am in. I also researched and completed our TownsHistory of Supervisors, Town Board members, Town Clerks, High-way Superintendents and Judges Commemorative Plaque thatproudly hangs in the Town Hall today. I am friendly, outgoing andpersonable. I enjoy working with the public and take interest inmy community. I reside on Wilton Mountain Road in Corinth. Ihave five children four of which attend Corinth school and arevery active in community activities. My intentions other than serv-ing my community to the best of my abilities will be to cut backon cost. A few of my intentions are to ensure efficiency in officeoperations, make as many forms available online as possibleand automate the office files to make them more readily availableto public. I also intend to open the Town Clerks office on Satur-days from 9-12 so that people working days will have an oppor-tunity to take care of business that they cannot otherwise attendto during the week. I would appreciate your vote for Corinth TownClerk in the Republican primary on Tuesday, September 13,2011. Voting hours are Noon-9:00pm. If you have any questions, please call me at 654-6010. Thank you.

NEW WILTON FOOD PANTRY RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY HELD WILTON, NY (August 16, 2011): The Wilton Food Pantry (WFP) celebrated the opening of its location at the Trinity United Methodist Church,155 Ballard Road, with a "can opening" ceremony held on Tuesday, August 16 that drew high-ranking politicians and corporate executives including Wilton Town Supervisor Art Johnson, Senator Roy Mc-Donald, Assemblyman Tony Jordon, Saratoga E.O.C. Executive Director Julie Hoxsie, Trinity United Methodist Church trustees, and Wilton Rotary Club and Wilton Kiwanis representatives. ”We celebrate not only a new food pantry but what this space represents—a community of people whose determination and compassion have made this a reality for Wilton families,” said Jared Dinsmore, WFP Board President. “It took many neighbors to bring this project to fruition and we are humbled to be able to provide food to those in need in the Town of Wilton.” Dinsmore added, “There has been a 50% rise in families being served at food pantries in Saratoga County since 2008. We are asking the community to partner with us to help end hunger in our region.”

The WFP moved into the Trinity United Methodist Church Annex in July 2011 after nine months of research, planning and minor renovations. Special thanks are extended to the following organizations for their support and donations: Trinity United Methodist Church, Golub Foundation, Wilton Rotary Club, Wilton Kiwanis, Saratoga National Bank & Trust Co., Ballston Spa National Bank, The Town of Wilton, Hannaford Supermarkets and many individuals, corporations and volunteers. The WFP is open Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to provide qualifying individuals and families with a 3-day emergency supply of food. To receive services, you must provide proof that you reside in the township of Wilton, New York. Once residency has been proven, services will be provided regardless of race, sex, color, creed, sexual preference or any other non-qualifying designation.

While the Wilton Food Pantry awaits its fi nal 501(c)3 status, tax-deductible donations may be made to the WFP through the Trinity United Methodist Church of Wilton. In-kind donations made through the church will be applied towards outfi tting the church’s annex for The Wilton Food Pantry. Monetary donations should be made out to Trinity United Methodist Church and mailed to the Wilton Food Pantry, PO Box 2383, Wilton, NY 12831. Food donations are accepted at the WFP on Wednesdays from 3-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8-9:30 a.m. The Wilton Food Pantry is a volunteer-based organization and cannot exist without the help and support of individuals and community organizations. If you are interested in volunteering, starting a food collection or employee food drive, or hosting a fundraising event for the WFP, please call 518-538-9978 or visit us online at www.wiltonfoodpantry.org.
