CREDIT UNION RECEIVES APPROVAL TO BUILD NEW

OPERATIONS CENTER Corinth, New York (June 8, 2011) – Th e Village Board of Corinth voted to change the zon-ing of the property originally home to International Paper Company from industrial to busi-ness therefore paving the way for the building of Hudson River Community Credit Union’s (HRCCU) new Operations Center. “We are very happy that as a result of the zoning change, Hudson River Community Credit Union can build its Operations Center on a 10 acre portion of the International Paper Mill property,” stated Brad Winslow, Mayor of Corinth. “In the future, as the credit union grows, the Center will bring new jobs to Corinth which will be very benefi cial to the residents, as well as the business community. We are hopeful that the addition of HRCCU’s new Operations Center to the existing International Paper Company site, will serve as a catalyst for further development of the existing property.” Hudson River Community Credit Union purchased 10 acres of property from International Paper Company where it will build its new, $2.3 million, two-story, 16,000 square foot Opera-tions Center on the site, which will house most of the credit union’s operational staff . Con-struction will begin in August of 2011 with completion of the building slated for the fall of 2012. “On behalf of the HRCCU Board of Directors, I would like to thank the Village Board mem-bers for their prompt approval of the zoning change which is an important step to bringing our new operations center to Corinth. Th e HRCCU’s roots run deep in Corinth and our Board feels strongly that our operations center should be located in the area where we got our start,” said HRCCU Board President, Stuart Field. Hudson River Community Credit Union was chartered in 1954 by a group of International Paper Company employees at its Corinth plant. Th e credit union is a not-for-profi t fi nancial cooperative owned and governed by its members. Hudson River Community Credit Union has fi ve branches located at 312 Palmer Ave., Corinth; 160 Broad St., Glens Falls; 3762 Bur-goyne Avenue, Hudson Falls; 35 Niver St., Cohoes and 40 Leversee Road in Troy. CANADIAN BRASS CONCERT AND BBQLuzerne Music Center will present its season opener -- a concert by Canadian Brass and an In-

dependence Day Weekend Barbecue -- on Sunday, July 3rd, beginning at 4:00 pm. Five brass musicians, each a virtuoso in his own right, form the legendary Canadian Brass, which

has been in existence over 40 years. With an international reputation as one of the most popularbrass ensembles today, Canadian Brass has truly earned the distinction of “the worldʼs most famousbrass group.”

According to the Washington Post, “These are the men who put brass music on the map: withtheir unbeatable blend of virtuosity, spontaneity and humor, they brighten the rosters of concerthalls, international festivals and orchestra series throughout the world. Their numerous recordings,frequent television appearances and tireless efforts in the realm of music education have resultedin vast new audiences for the Art of the Canadian Brass.”

The varied Canadian Brass repertoire features brass standards as well as a wide-ranging libraryof original arrangements created especially for them. These include the works of Renaissance andBaroque masters, Classical works, marches, holiday favorites, ragtime, Dixieland, Latin, jazz, bigband, Broadway and Christian music as well as popular songs and standards. Having started witha very limited base, Canadian Brass has created their own musical world by transcribing, arrangingand commissioning more than 200 works, including critically acclaimed compositions from MichaelKamen, Luther Henderson, Bramwell Tovey, Don Gillis and more. They have transformed a previ-ously neglected group of instruments with a limited repertoire into a versatile and vital ensemblethat can play everything from Gabrieli to Gershwin!

This outdoor event will take place on the Centerʼs campus, at 203 Lake Tour Road in LakeLuzerne, NY. Preferred and lawn seating will be available, with preferred seating priced at $25 peradult and $10 per student (including those with college IDʼs), and lawn seating at $10 per adult and$5 per student for those providing their own lawn chairs and blankets. The barbeque will be an ad-ditional $10 per person. All full- and half-series subscribers will receive preferred seating at theconcert and barbecue.
