Product Characteristics

Corflo(r) is a double-walled, material-efficientPVC pipe, with a smooth internal bore anda corrugated exterior. Manufactured by acontinuous, co-extrusion process theseamless pipe utilises the principles ofstructural forms to provide a pipe that,using less material, meets the physicaland mechanical requirements of HeavyDuty (HD) conduit when tested toAS/NZS 2053 – 1995.

The high technology design andmanufacture of Corflo(r) enables thecharacteristics to be achieved, with thefollowing benefits:

Product Material

Corflo(r) is manufactured from the sameextrusion grade PVC resin as conduitscomplying with AS/NZS 2053 - 1995.

Corflo meets the requirements of AS/NZS2053.6:1995 Profile-Wall, Smooth BoreConduits and Fittings of InsulatingMaterial.

Independent testing of Corflo(r) has beencarried out by a N.A.T.A. approvedlaboratory and test results highlight thefact that Corflo(r) also meets all the physicaland mechanical tests of AS/NZS 2053 forHeavy Duty (HD) conduit.

Colours

Corflo(r) is manufactured in orange to makethe product easily distinguishable forelectrical applications.

Joining

Corflo(r) is joined together in the samemanner as normal conduit by means of abelled end, and standard PVC solvent isused to bond the lengths together. Corflolengths can be pushed together by hand,no hammering is necessary.

Fittings

Corflo(r) is a rigid conduit. The existingrange of HD bends and fittings should beused with Corflo(r). No special fittings arerequired.

Interchangeability

Corflo(r) has the same O.D. as standard100mm HD conduit so therefore it istotally interchangeable with conventional100mm conduits.

Installation Procedure

The installation procedures for Corflo(r)pipes are no different to those for plainPVC pipes. AS2032 - 1977 "Code ofPractice for Installation of PVC PipeSystems" also applies to Corflo.

Bedding & BackfillMaterial

The bedding and backfill material must beof the correct specification, with type andprocedures conforming to AS2032 - 1977"Installation of PVC Pipe Systems" andAS/NZS 2566.1 "Buried Flexible Pipes-Structural Design".

Cover Heights

Vinidex recommends the adoption ofminimum cover heights in accordancewith AS/NZS 2566.1 "Buried FlexiblePipes-Structural Design".
