Do you think a single act of civil disobedience would have as much of an impact today as it did in 1956?

a) YES. Whenever someone stands up for something as courageously as Rosa Parks did, it will have a unifying effect and will help spark a movement.

b) NO. Our society has become much too individualistic for the act of one person to spark a whole movement today. Such an act would get lost in the 24 hour news cycle and it would not have as big of an impact.

The boycott had significant financial implications for the city's bus service. Without these measurable economic consequences, do you think the boycott would have been as successful?

a) YES. Even without the economic component, the cause's effective leadership and moral justness would have ultimately rendered the boycott successful.

b) NO. The financial effects of the boycott convinced the bus company that there were direct consequences for their racist policies, thus helping the boycott succeed.
