Department organised a two - day - workshop on “Biped-a Humanoid Robot” in association with robokart.com and I-cell, IIT, Mumbai on 27th & 28th Feb 2017. Prof. Debdutta Choudhury (Dir. P&C), Prof.(Dr.) S. K. Mishra (Principal), , Er. Chandrakant (Trainer), Prof.D.R.Biswal (H.o.D, Mech.) Were present on the auspicious occasion.

Department conducted a Study Tour to Idcol Ferro Chrome & Alloys Ltd., Jajpur on 25th February, 2017 for final year students. Various mechanical operations, material handling process , furnace operation, raw material transportation and different flow processes have been studied by the students during the visit in presence of Prof. D.R. Biswal H.o.D. mechanical Engg and faculty members. Department organized a training programme on “C, C++,

Data Structure” on 15th February 2017 in association with LIT, Bhubaneswar. Mr. Sushanta Rout, Expert LIT conducted the programme.

Students of CSE have been selected for Grand Finale Smart India Hackathon17 held on 1st and 2nd April 2017 At GNIT Kolkotta. Department organized a three-day-workshop on Cyber Security in association with ELAN IIT, Hyderabad on 7th , 8th 9th February 2017. Speaker Mr. Manish Bharadwaj, Senior Security Analyst & Network Engineer in Azure Skynet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Gurgaon, Haryana convey delivered his talk to the participants during the workshop . In this event certificate of coordination is awarded to Mr. Pradosh kumar Gantayat , Mr. Rajeev Agrawal and Mr. Surajit Mohanty .

Department organised a study tour to Paradeep Port for the Prefinal year students on 5th February, 2017. The students have come across various mechanical operations, transportation procedure, material loading and unloading processes and cargo ship handling etc. During visit D.R. Biswal, H.o.D. Mechanical Engg with faculty members presenting a memento to Sri.Sanjeev Nayak , executive of Paradeep Port Trust.

Prof. Alok Ranjan Biswal Department of Mechanical Engineering (Degree Wing) was selected as reviewer of journal named 'Journal Of Vibration And Control (JVC)' for the academic year 2017-18 nominated by Sage Publication, United Kingdom.

Prof Deepak Ranjan Biswal, HoD, department of mechanical engineering in accocciation with the co-authors Prof. Alok Ranjan Biswal, Prof. Abinash Bibek Dash and Prof.Niranjan Panda published a paper titled “Theoretical Investigation On Kinematic Modelling of A Multi Fingered Robotic Hand” Which has been accepted in the UGC approved journal “Indian Journal Of Scientific Research (IJSR) ” On July2017.

A seminar on “Impact on Union Budget 2017-18 on Indian Economy” was inaugurated and the session was addressed by Sri Dillip Kumar Satapathy, Resident Editor, The Business Standard, Bhubaneswar edition in presence of Prof. D. Choudhury (Director, P&C) and Prof. (Dr). S.M. Das, Principal on 22nd February, 2017.

The annual day celebration of Management Wing 'Avantika – 2017' was held on 19th of April 2017. It was inaugurated by Chief Guest Sj.Balaram Kar (Director, Admin) and Prof. D Choudhury (Director, P&C). The event witnessed full students participation. All the selected winners were rewarded and encouraged.

Management Wing organized a seminar on “Challenges and Opportunities of Future Managers” on 2nd February, 2017. Prof. (Dr.) T.K Pany, HoD, Commerce and Management, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack graced the occasion.

Dr. Prasant Kumar Parida, MD, Medical Oncologist, Archarya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre delivered key note address on Current Scenario of Cancer. One Day State Level Seminar on “ Caring for mothers & their Newborns-Midwives Role”of SOMI,ODISHA Chapter was organized on 31st March 2017 at Jayashree Audi. The Chief Guests were Prof. Dr. Snigdha Banabasini Nanda, Senior Gynaecologist, District Head Quarter, Cuttack & Prof. Amrita Lenka Principal , KINS BBSR Cum President of SOMI Odisha Chapter. The resource persons were Mrs. Dharitri Swain,Principal Incharge AIIMS, BBSR, Prof. Anuradha Panda, Principal, LGM College of Nursing, BBSR & Mrs.Malini Digal, Asst.Prof, KINS, KIIT, BBSR. Sj. Pramod Chandra Rath, Chairman DRIEMS was the Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session. Total participants were around 250 from eleven Colleges of BBSR, Cuttack, Berhampur, Salipur & Jajpur.

World Health Day was observed on 7th April 2017 at DSCN. The programme was Inaugurated by Prof.Dr. Ashutosh Debata, Director (AP&R). Mr. Ajeez P, Asst Prof. delivered speech on the theme “Depression : Let's talk”. Mrs.Anasuya Pattanayak, Principal, DSCN delivered the welcome address on this occasion.

“International Nurses Day & Oath Taking Ceremony” held on 12th May 2017 at Jayashree Audi. National Safe Motherhood Day was observed on 11th April 2017 at Tangi,CHC. The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok Sahoo, Medical Officer,Tangi CHC. Activities on Health awareness programme like Health Talks and skit were conducted among the antenatal mothers, attending CHC,Tangi followed by poster competition by nursing students at DSCN.

World population Day was observed at DSCN by inaugurating the wall magazine on the theme “ Family Planning: Empowering people, Developing Nation” by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) Inspectors team on 11th July 2017.

An awareness rally was organized by students of DRIEMS School and College of Nursing at Bhatimunda Gram Panchayat on World Breast Feeding week celebration.

Students of DRIEMS School and College of Nursing are being felicitated by Sj. Pramod Chandra Rath, Chairman, DRIEMS for winning medals in different events in State Level Talent Hunt programme in Bhubaneswar.
