The human-induced climate change is already occurring and that future change is inevitable.

This summer's heat is consistent with

a long-term warming trend and looks to be

one of the hottest summers on record.

Global warming is A rise in temperature of the Earthcaused by emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases that are emitted primarily by the burning of fossil fuels and the clearing of forests. These gases remain in our atmosphere for decades or even centuries.

Page 10: Copy Of Global Warming

The atmosphere around us is made up of gases. Some of these gases function like the panes of a greenhouse: they let some radiation from the sun in but also retain heat in the atmosphere, that is: they don't let all radiation back out. As a result of this natural effect, it is warmer on Earth than it would be without these heat-trapping gases. This is called the greenhouse effect.

Page 11: Copy Of Global Warming

Human contributions of certain gases to the atmosphere have increased this greenhouse effect resulting in GLOBAL WARMING.

Page 12: Copy Of Global Warming

World's leading climate scientists feel that the Earth's temperature is rising and that its climate has changed over the last century. The scientific consensus is clear that the rise in temperature and change in climate are being caused in part by human activities.

Causes of global warming•Ozone hole

• heat-trapping-gases• aerosol emissions•over population•overuse of energy • economic growth• land use changes

•Burning of fossil fuels•Cement manufacture

What is Ozone?

Ozone is a colorless gas. Chemically, ozone is very active;

it reacts readily with a great many other substances.

Near the Earth’s surface, those reactions cause rubber to crack,

hurt plant life, and damage people’s lung tissues.

But ozone also absorbs harmful components

of sunlight, known as “ultraviolet B”, or “UV-B”.

High above the surface, above even the weather systems,

a tenuous layer of ozone gas absorbs UV-B,

protecting living things below.

Page 16: Copy Of Global Warming

Each year for the past few decades during the Southern Hemisphere spring, chemical reactions involving chlorine

cause ozone in the southern polar region to be destroyed rapidly and severely.

This depletion is known as the “ozone hole”.

Changes in precipitation patterns could have a significant impact,

especially in already water-scarce regions that are likely to suffer from further

decreasing rainfall

Changes in precipitation patterns

Page 22: Copy Of Global Warming

The ranges and abundance of plants and animals could change dramatically under changing climate conditions, and some of them are likely to be unable to adapt or migrate to new locations.

Global warming is already under way. The evidence is vast and the urgency of taking action becomes clearer with every new scientific study. Some of the most obvious signs are visible in the Arctic, where rising temperatures and melting ice are dramatically changing the region’s unique landscapes and wildlife—as well as people’s lives and livelihoods.

NOW THEGLOBAL WARMING SOLUTIONS………………………..

Page 44: Copy Of Global Warming

The global warming solutionsThe global warming solutionsareare

• Using energy more efficiently

• moving to renewable energy (wind, solar, geothermal, and bioenergy)

• increasing the efficiency of the cars we drive,

• reducing our dependence on oil and other fossil fuels that cause global warming

• vehicle technology solutions

Page 45: Copy Of Global Warming

We can’t avoid all the consequences of global warming,

but committing ourselves to action today can help ensure our children and grandchildren inherit a healthy world full of opportunity.

Page 46: Copy Of Global Warming

Let us spread awareness around

to save our planet from

further warming and

To reduce the existing level of warming.

Page 47: Copy Of Global Warming

To protect the health and economicwell-being of current and future generations,

we must reduce our emissions of heat-trapping gases by using the

technology, know-how, and practical solutions

already at our disposal.

REGARDING THE PROBLEM OF GLOBAL WARMING

AND ITS SOLUTION.
