Here are the steps you need to take to start using TALENT.

Before you can access TALENT, you must first receive an email invitation from your school’s TALENT administrator (this is the person at your school who is responsible for managing your school’s version of TALENT). The email will contain a link that will take you to the page where you can sign up for TALENT. If you don’t have this email, please contact your administrator and request an invitation.

The link in the invitation email will take you to a sign up page where you will be prompted to enter your full name and create a password to log in to TALENT. After completing your sign up, you will automatically be redirected to your TALENT account.

When you first log in to TALENT, you’ll be taken on a guided tour of the TALENT platform. This tour will provide an overview of the major features of TALENT. If you’d like to take the tour again later, you can always access it by clicking on your name in the upper right hand corner, then go to Account Settings, and click Take the Tour.

When you log into your TALENT account for the first time, you’ll receive a welcome email from TALENT that contains a host of helpful information including how to download the TALENT auto upload app. We’ll also explain how to download the app here.

To Download the App: Go to the App store on your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad and search for Torsh Talent. Download the free T Uploader auto upload app to your device or click the following link which will take you to the app in the app store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/t-uploader/id859856481?mt=8

(I haven’t had luck searching in the app store for this. I opened Safari and typed in the link above and that took me to the app where I could download it)

IMPORTANT. If you’ve already downloaded the Swivl app to your device, please delete it now. THE TALENT APP WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY IF THE SWIVL APP IS INSTALLED ON YOUR DEVICE.

Now that your TALENT account is fully set up, you’re ready to start capturing video and tapping into the power of TALENT.

IMPORTANT. Whenever you want to access TALENT, you will go to www.torshtalent.com and it will take you to a login page where you can enter your email address and password to access your account.

The first time you launch the app, you will be prompted by a pop up box to login to TALENT. Click “Log in” and log in to your TALENT account by using your invitation e-mail address and the password that you created upon signing up for TALENT. If you don’t log in, your videos will not automatically upload to your account and you will have to manually upload them after you capture them.

Once you’ve logged into your account on the TALENT auto upload app, you’ll be taken to the recording screen. This is a simple screen that shows the available recording time you have, allows you to use either the front or back camera, and allows you to record video. At the bottom of the app screen there are three icons: (i) a red record button in the middle, (ii) a slider icon to the left which gives you access to your settings for the app, and (iii) a film strip to the right which gives you access to your video library where you can see the videos you’ve uploaded and the status of videos in the process of uploading. We’ll focus on the recording functions for now.

To record video directly from the app, press the red record button on the app. This will start the recording process. Press the recording button again when you are ready to stop recording. When you stop recording video, the video will start uploading automatically. You can record new videos while existing videos are being uploaded in the background.

You will receive an email when the video upload to your talent account is complete. After your video is uploaded, you can view your uploaded video by logging into your account at www.torshtalent.com or pressing the “Launch Talent” button within the app. As soon as you log in, you will land on the homepage of your account and all recently uploaded videos will be displayed there.

Once your video is uploaded. Please go into your browser and open www.torshtalent.com . Click on the “videos” button on the home page and you will see your uploaded video.

Please click on the pencil image next to the video to rename the video so that we can identify it. Type in your Last name and video number. Click the green check mark to save the name.

Click on the video and in the “Description” section, enter the date of the video and the lesson you taught.

Then click on the “Tags” section and select the tags to describe your video. Make sure you select a tag for either upper elementary or secondary, your content area, and your university.

Then click on the “Back to videos” button above the video to go back to the screen below. Click on the “shares” button to the right of the video.

Click on the “shares” button and enter in your supervisor/coaches name and the name Jackie Brauhn to share the video with them. To do this, click on the first blank line and either enter their name or scroll through the list to their name. (You must share with both your supervisor and Jackie Brauhn- Jackie will then share the video with the raters.)

You must change the permissions on the video to: can duplicate, re-share, and add notes and documents. Do this by clicking on the second blank that says can add notes and documents and change the permission to the last option.
