“A Cooperative Bank is a financial entity which belong to its member, who are at the same time the owners and the customers of their bank. Co-

operative banks are often created by persons belonging to the same local or professional

community or sharing a common interest. Co-operative banks generally provide their

members with a wide range of banking and financial services i.e. loans, deposits, banking

accounts.”

INTRODUCTION Established on 14th September,1918.

Mr.J.K.PARULKAR was the first Chairman of

the Saraswat Bank.

Society was converted into full fledged Urban

Co-operative Bank in the year 1933.

Mrs.SOUMYA RAO is the present Branch

Manager of Kalyan Branch.

OBJECTIVE

Bank was set-up to help families in distress.

To provide accommodation to its member in

eventualities such as weddings of dependent

members of the family, repayment of debt &

expenses of medical treatment & so on.

MILESTONES After 25 years of its establishment, bank had a strong

foundation in terms of its membership, resources,

In last 2 decades bank has witnessed steady growth

with 223 fully computerized branches.

On 31st March 2010 bank had business of 26000cr &

was surpassed in September by crossing 29000cr

landmark.

LONG TERM GOAL

Bank has an ambitious business expansion plan in

place to have a presence in all major cities of the

country.

Bank also aims at achieving 50,000cr by 2016 and

1,00,000cr by 2018.

0% loan is provided to the farmers (only crops related) if repaid before maturity.
