VISION
To augment experiences for our students by taking flight as an Aerospace Engineering
Specialty School that:
• Provides meaningful opportunities in a learning community while increasing
performance in Math and Science
• Fosters innovative thinking, promotes a passion for inquiry, and develops a
compassion for others through character development and community
involvement
• Fosters an environment focused on innovation, technology and engineering
curriculum, and
• Provides real-world assignments and projects designed to prepare students for
post-secondary ambitions.

Mastery of standards prepares students to have a competitive edge in the transportation
industry while providing significant and meaningful opportunities to conduct
investigations, gather and use information, and solve problems using scientific methods,
research and technology as tools.
Our CMS Aerospace Engineering Program is
designed to help students build a strong knowledge
base and develop skills related to the Aerospace
sector.
Units of focus include knowledge of safety issues,
aviation careers, transportation components, tools
and equipment, current and alternative fuel sources,
oral and written communication and related physical
science principles.

The CMS Center for Technology and Engineering is a 21st Century School…
• The Center is unique in Rockdale County and is revolutionizing the educational
experience of middle school students thru Aerospace Engineering Studies.
• The overall goal is to increase student achievement in math and science and to
inspire students by exposing them to rigorous “real world” problems and issues
using research-based, proven curriculum.
• The campus is fully wireless with a 1:1 computer ratio for all students in the 2016-
2017 school year allowing a technology-rich program mimicking the workplace.
• All students will have the opportunity to obtain Carnegie Credits during their 8th
grade year in Math, Science and Language Arts as well as to obtain industry
certifications in Engineering and Technology. The capstone project will give
students the opportunity to develop apprenticeships with business partners.
