It where a convergent boundary take place,When two tectonic plates meet, one may slide underneath the other, that zone is called a subduction zone. Subductions zone mostly occur around the Ring of Fire.

Convection currentsConvection currents are the movement of

liquids and solids as their temperature rise.It happens in the mantle where the magma

are, and it causes rocks to rise up, cools, then go back to the bottom.

The Asthenosphere is another name of the part where the convection current takes place.

Continental Drift

When a tectonic plate moves and causes the continents to move is called a continental drift.Alfred Wegener was the scientist who came up with the idea of continental drift, he has collected different types of evidence to support his theory.

How the continents were formed

Evidences of continental drift★ Pangaea puzzlewhen we look at the map we can see that the eastern coast of south American and the western coast of African can stuck together.

Evidences of continental drift

★RocksThere are same kinds of rocks in the places that were stuck together once before like Africa and the Americas.

Page 10: Convection currents and continental drift

Evidences of continental drift★ FossilsThere were also same fossils in different places in the world which supports that these places were one piece before.
