The history of PAOLO CASTELLI SPA is indelibly tied to the historic Bolognese family, the Castelli, whose business comes from a background of artisanship and then grew into a company with countless achievements, steeped in international prestige in the field of furnitureIn the early 1990s, Paolo Castelli began working in the management of a company under the group Modular Srl, which originally engaged in the production of furnishing accessories.Over the last twenty years, the company has developed strong planning, technical and production skills in the fields of contract and custom made furniture. In the early 1990s, DOMODINAMICA was also founded, a highly well-known company on the international design scene. Its catalog, the result of important collaborations, is rich with beautiful pieces brought into being by the brilliant insight of famous architects and made a reality through Italian artisanal mastery. Artists of the caliber of Michele De Lucchi, Karim Rashid, Pier Luigi Cerri, Alessandro Mendini, Stefano Giovannoni, Luca Scacchetti, Denis Santachiara, Angelo Micheli and Massimo Iosa Ghini have designed for Domodinamica. Many of the DOMODINAMICA products have been—and in some cases still are today—exhibiteD in the most important international design museums. In 2011 Paolo Castelli felt it was time to take the lead of the company, with a new name PAOLO CASTELLI SPA, which took over the two Srls, Modular and Domodinamica. Domodinamica was kept as a label, due to its great notoriety in Italy and around the world. Paolo Castelli SpA, backed by the experience and the tradition it is built on, is able to offer its clientele a customized, highly technical service in any project it is entrusted with. The contract department is, in fact, made up of architects, engineers, designers, graphic designers and highly qualified assembly technicians, and boasts loyal clients of primary importance. Its realizations span from exclusive premises to major installations in Italy and abroad.Paolo Castelli SpA is at the service of architectural studio, as in the following projects: the new Manica Lunga Library of the Giorgio Cini Foundation, for which it also created all of the furnishings for the 62 apartments of the guest quarters; the new Marcianum Library and its offices for the Patriarchate of Venice; the new office buildings for Piaggio in Milan; the auditorium for the New York Palace Boscolo Hotel in Budapest and the spa for the Exedra Boscolo Hotel in Nice; the restaurant and relax area for the FAO World Food Program in Rome; the Alitalia check-in area of the Fiumicino airport; all of the seats in Club Freccia Alata lobbies of Alitalia; two auditoriums for the Regional Government of Emilia-Romagna (Italy); the theater and the offices and control room for Fincantieri; and lastly, the furniture for Ferrari’s restaurant area.Its intervention on Banca Intesa’s Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza della Scala in Milan, the new Resort Casinò de la Valèe and the newly opened lounge Dolce Vita in Leonardo da Vinci Airport –Rome for Alitalia are last but not least on the list of jobs to be proud of.Paolo Castelli SpA is named after its CEO, Paolo Castelli, who embodies the history and tradition of his family—together with the energy and enthusiasm necessary for facing the challenges of today’s market.
