Introduction

www.ISRreports.com ©2015 | Contract Manufacturer Quality Benchmarking (2015) 7

Introduction

Welcome to ISR’s Contract Manufacturing Quality Benchmarking (2015) report Industry Standard Research (ISR) takes pride in our suite of Quality Benchmarking work and this study is no exception This report has a wealth of information and has been created with two very simple goals:

1. Help biopharmaceutical companies make more informed CMO selection decisions

There are a lot of CMOs out there Choosing the right one isn’t easy

There are a lot of questions to be answered Does the CMO have the capacity to meet my needs? How is its regulatory track record? Are the staff experienced? Are timelines met consistently? Performance in these areas is critical, but it isn’t easy to assess how a CMO will perform without a previous working relationship

ISR’s study answers these questions Discover the key attributes that commercial manufacturing decision-makers are using to drive CMO selection Learn how individual CMOs perform along important dimensions This research affords a more educated purchase of CMO services and allows readers to narrow down which CMOs might best fit their needs

2. Help CMOs optimize operational and marketing strategies

A company can’t fix what it does not know is broken Perhaps just as importantly, a company can’t successfully market its strengths if it does not know what aspects of its performance stand out in the minds of customers Many CMOs may have an idea of their customers’ perceptions of strengths and weaknesses, but likely not with the degree of detail or magnitude provided in this research

ISR’s Contract Manufacturer Quality Benchmarking report will shed light on how your customers feel you perform relative to their expectations This provides an opportunity to clearly view your company’s strengths through the eyes of your customers Messaging and marketing collateral can be designed that effectively herald your true areas of strength Comparing your scores to those of your competition will allow you to differentiate your services based on areas of high performance

Consolidation is nothing new to the contract services industry, and a number of companies featured in the Contract Manufacturing Quality Benchmarking report (2015) have been part of recent M&A activity At ISR, we know that integration of a new acquisition can take a significant amount of time; as such, companies acquired within the past 18-24 months are still represented by the prior brand name
