Contract Engineering Services is a unique resource.
For over 20 years, we have provided engineered solutions to a diverse clientele of businesses and professionals working in medicine, energy, optics, advanced materials, and consumer products.
We “speak the language” of manufacturers, inventors, researchers and product developers who need electromechanicalengineering support.

Numerous injection-molded plastic component are used
in this device - each designed for optimum
strength, weight, and moldability.
We work closely with our clients, to truly understand and clarify their problems and objectives.
Then we apply our SolidWorks CAD, FEA, Rapid Prototyping – and a wealth of practical industry experience – to provide our clients with the resources of an “in house” engineering department, without adding onsite staff.
And, we maintain this personal contact throughout the solution effort.

In addition, we address our client’s need for “hands-on”
support – such as shop drawings and prototype
fabrication – functions which are always required as part of any solution effort, and which the typical “consultant” can’t
provide.

CES provided all design, fabrication, on-site assembly and test of several versions of this system.
Special Machinery
CES specializes in design of unique machinery and tooling for research applications.
Shown here is equipment we designed to assemble, clean and test a one-of-a-kind filament-wound composite fuel tank.
Our wide experience enables us to accept design challenges that specialized "consultants" cannot.
Industrial Tooling
At right, a CES design for Control Panel and Printer of an
innovative neonatal end-tidal breath monitoring product.
Working with a leading heart surgeon, at left is a surgical instrument designed by CES, enabling minimally invasive repair of heart mitral valves. Note the extremely compact size – the barrel is only 9mm in diameter.
Medical Instruments
At left, an electro-optical system designed by CES and packaging an Ebert double-monochromator, a Peltier-effect cooled photomultiplier tube, and all power/signal electronics.

Optical Instruments
Illustrated is a lightweight, ruggedized, Fuel Cell Power Supply designed for a Military Client.
The entire case was composed of plastic components fabricated by a Rapid Prototyping process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Strong functional components can now be obtained by SLS directly from CAD files, with no molds or tooling required.
Additionally, SLS can produce components with internal channels and other features unproducible by other methods.

CES has extensive experience in plastic component design for both consumer and commercial applications.
