“The Wallace Five”

Purpose

To provide states the opportunity to share their implementation plans/early wins developed at February’s Topical Meeting that use professional learning to increase principal effectiveness.

Objectives:

Learn about New Hampshire’s experience with building a system of professional learning for principals and consider how NH will assist their principals and other school leaders in finding the time to lead instructional improvement.

Share your state’s professional learning for principals experience.

Discuss future opportunities for continuing professional learning to increase principal effectiveness.

Presenter:

Describes work and shares a problem of practice (10 mins)

Webinar participants:

Ask clarifying questions (3 mins) Raise hand or use chat box

Explore the presenter’s interpretation of what is happening in the problem and offers as many different interpretations of what is happening as they can imagine (4 mins)

State teams that attended the February Topical Meeting are invited to attend Learning Forward’s Annual Conference 2013 in Dallas, Texas in December

A “Meeting within a Meeting” Design will provide states the learning and reflection time to continue their efforts in building professional learning systems and increasing the effectiveness of principals.
