I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth! What many don t realize is that the preceding verses are filled with destruction, extreme weather events, and war. After the culmination of all that, the psalmist instructs us to be still and know God. This year has been tumultuous to say the least, and for many of us we are stressed and worn out. Today, let me encourage you be still. Learning to be still in the midst of chaos reminds us who God is and that He is in control. As we celebrate Christmas this week, what a wonderful time to be still and exalt our Lord. As part of being still, I encourage you to find some time to be alone with God and read for the first time or reread the Christmas story. SERIES: “Hope In Christmas”

SERMON: JOSEPH

TEXT: Matthew 1:15-25

One of my favorite psalms is Psalm 46. The psalm is most

famous for verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be

exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth!”

What many don’t realize is that the preceding verses are

filled with destruction, extreme weather events, and war. After

the culmination of all that, the psalmist instructs us to be still

and know God.

This year has been tumultuous to say the least, and for

many of us we are stressed and worn out. Today, let me

encourage you be still. Learning to be still in the midst of chaos

reminds us who God is and that He is in control.

As we celebrate Christmas this week, what a wonderful

time to be still and exalt our Lord. As part of being still, I

encourage you to find some time to be alone with God and

read for the first time or reread the Christmas story.

Here are the verses if you are not sure where to find them:

Matthew 1:18-2:15 and Luke 1:26-38; 2:1-21.
