Salvation Army Bell Ringing Thank-You The LUMC family has had a very successful season ringing bells
for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. We had over 40
bell ringers participate at our usual Wal-Mart location. We rang
the bells for 18 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, raising
thousands of dollars for the members of our Mason County com-
munity.
Our top ringers this year were Art Murphy, Wayne Disegna and
Kirk Myers with 7 hours each. Our Top Gal was Pat Bos, with 6
hours!
A big Thank-You to all of our Salvation Army Bell Ringers.
Please join us next year in this worthy and gratifying effort for
our local community. It is very rewarding to contribute to helping
those in need who live in our area neighborhoods.
May God Bless all of you in this year of 2020.
In Christ’s Love,
Steve and Cyndi Scott

Oceana/Mason County Inmate & Family Ministries thanks our
congregation for helping the 2019 Angel Tree Program be such
a huge success. Between the two counties, the organization pro-
vided gifts for 93 children and food boxes for 42 families!
Prayer Shawl Ministry 2019
This ministry began in 2005 with the help from ladies at Scottville
United Methodist Church.
Our prayer shawl ministry continues to be very active thanks to
all the lovely ladies that continue to make the shawls! Thank you!
We have many beautiful shawls awaiting to brighten someone’s
day in their time of need. We also have yarn available to knit the
shawls with instructions. Shawls and yarn are always available but
are only on display the 2nd Sunday of the month.
The following people received a shawl this past year: Ramona
Myers, Connie Maritch, Nellie Barthelomew, Toni Rumsey, John
Nelson, Pastor Judy, Caryl Ferguson, Marion Riffle, Cathy Merri-
man, Ellie Westcott, Myra Easton, Dorothy Smogeleski, Ruthie
Peterson, Rosalee Denney, and Wilma Allan. A shawl was taken
and given by the Kentucky Mission Team and also 2 shawls were
taken by Dawn & Bob Brown for their Anchor of Hope ministry
in Haiti.
Thank you also to all who have taken the time to take a prayer
shawl to someone they know is in need and suffering in some
way, and also to those who continue to give a love offering to
help with the purchase of yarn. This ministry is also supported
through our Evangelism Committee.
Thank you again to all those who continue to knit these lovely
shawls with thoughtful prayers for whoever the recipient might
be: Terry Baldwin, Pam Greb, Beth Wolpert, Linda Myer, Cathi
Kelly, Heidi Stauffer, Sharon Alexander, Shirley Mitchell, Karen
Disegna, Jane Clark, Monica Stewart, Marcia Olmstead, Mary Lou
Mitteer and Cris Wegener.
If you have any questions concerning the Prayer Shawl Ministry,
you may contact Lynne Gohn @ 843-4746.
