A two minutes silence was observed, as weremembered those who passed away and prayedthat their souls rest in peace.

At this time of the day we normally have lunch, butwith the excellent compeered by Bhavin Khatri, the entertainment begain with dances NaachBaliye from the film Bunty Aur Babli followed byChori Chori from Gram Masala and O Krishna Hai- a Radha Krishna kathak dance.

Social Evening

The next Social Evening will be on3rd November. Please note that this will bedrinks only occasion; although limitedsamosas will be on sale.

It was announced in the Mahotsav that theSocial Evenings might be held infrequentlyfrom now on. A small group of volunteers hadgiven so much of their time to cook and cleanup for so many years. We have felt for sometime that this situation is unreasonable andunfair to them. So many people enjoy thisevent that others need to contribute their timeand effort for the social evenings to continue. It is now time for a change.

SKA is a charity run by volunteers so let’s all help each other. To the very people who saythat they would like a tasty dinner available atthe Social Evening, then please, even if it isJUST ONCE, volunteer yourself with like-minded friends and come along and do thecooking, serving and cleaning. You will beassisted by the Committee members as well.

Who will be the first person to bring a group ofvolunteers to help so we can have food backon the menu? We need a number of suchgroups on a rota. Contact the Secretary,Jitendra Ambaram and put you names down.

THANK YOU Letter from a member

Falling 10,000 feet from the sky was an amazing andexhilarating experience which I will treasure for the restof my life. Best of all I was able to raise a wonderfulgrand total of £1000.00 for the Harlington Hospiceassociation, who help people with life limiting conditionsthrough providing nurses at home, a day care centre, lymphoedema clinic and counselling services.

To view pictures of the event or to find out furtherinformation about the charity please visitwww.harlingtonhospice.org Also for those who would liketo make a donation, but have not yet done so can makecheques payable to ‘The Harlington HospiceAssociation’and post to: C/o. Kind Regards

Beena Parmar

Skanda Vale TemplesPilgrimage, South Wales

Pilgrimage represents a journey of devotion, sacrifice and a real desire to seek the link with theDivine. And so the journey to Skanda ValeTemples proved to be spiritually and emotionallyuplifting. The arrival was some what in stormyconditions which meant everyone was trulydrenched to the skin! This was compensated bythe visit to the Ranganatha Temple and theDarshan of Lord Vishnu whose murthi is set in thecentre of a wonderful man-made pond.

The warmth truly returned to every single pilgrimwho was lucky enough to be present for theafternoon Pooja and Aarthi in the SubramaniumTemple (aka Murugan Temple). The completeunselfish devotion shown by the Swamis is awe-inspiring and most humbling. The Pooja and Aarthiwere performed in the very true nature ofpracticing of Hinduism.

Immediately after the Pooja and Aarthi the Swamisand their dedicated devotees served everyoneMaha Prasad (hot lunch), which was delicious andreally tasty.

As the weather relented later in the afternoonpilgrims started to explore the temples groundsand eventually made their way to MahashaktiTemple where the abode of Divine Maha Kali Mais. Guru Sri Subramanium decided that as theweather conditions were still unsettled DivineMother Maha Kali Ma was to be brought down tothe Subramanium Temple for the evening Poojaand Aarthi.

In the evening at Maha Abhishekams Pooja andAarthi, it was a privilege to witness such trueprofound dedication, reverence and devotion inpractising the very essence of Hinduism. Theatmosphere was charged with heartfelt devotionand the moment was utterly magical and Divine innature!

On behalf of the Shree Kshatriya Association UKmay we thank the Swamis Council for theirgracious service rendered during our visit toSkanda Vale. We are truly grateful and indebtedfor the kindness shown, given and above allproviding us with the opportunity to gain Darshanof the Lord and Divine Mother Maha Kali Ma. Wealso thank Imperial Coaches and their drivers Queand William for fairing us safely to and fromSkanda Vale.

Finally thanks to all the pilgrims for coming on thisenlightening journey and being so co-operativeand making the pilgrimage such an enjoyable one!We hope that you will join us again in the nearfuture on another pilgrimage.

Jai Shree Krishna!
