Progression of contents page

For my contents page I added a black background and a white stripe down the right side of the poge, to break the page up. I added three images to the top of the page, blended them together at the edges and put them in front of the black square. I added some subtitles and contents of the magazine, as well as a main title.

I used “NME”’s idea of having a band index to give the reader an easy way to find a particular band in the magazine, and to break up the page.

I changed the image I had on my first part of the contents to one with a white background to break up the black background. I also added text underneath the images at the top of the page to make them meaningful rather than decorative. I added a caption to the main image to make the image meaningful.

I decided to put the caption for the photo’s as a part of the contents, and put it in a white arrow shape. I changed the title “contents” to “Revolution- This week.” as it seems more appropriate for the target audience.

I used a layout similar to the one on my final cover and created a small cover and added this to my contents page with an image of my final cover and added details of subscription to the magazine to help sell future copies of the magazine.

This is my contents page so far, I have finished adding all the details of the pages so I just need to add some images to break up the page…

I changed the style of the box on the subscription details to make it look more suitable for the genre of the magazine.

I created this small logo to go on the page for where an article was featured on the cover, making them easier for readers to locate articles they may have bought the magazine for…

I gained feedback from some people in my class, and they thought the middle section images with the black and white images looked slightly out of place so I will change this image, and the text with it to something more suitable

This is the very final version of my contents page, complete with new images and captions for the middle image. In the middle column. I asked the same people as before whether they liked the new version and they all said it looked more appropriate, and more professional.
