colour theme is in keeping with Q’s traditional colours of white, red and black. The three margins keep it well organised and designed stating the page numbers in a bold red box makes them stand out, along with the bold titles. The title has a great use of striking imagery and bold statements. The use of serif text for all the important contents makes a formal impression as its giving information, Where as the title is in Sans serif text to stand out and appeal at first glimpse. The few images the contents page have stand out to an audience and give the reader the knowledge that the artists feature in the issue.

This contents page from Q magazine is some what different to the previous issue. The use of imagery is very clear and this appeals to their audience. Q have cleverly added page numbers to their images, which helps the reader to find their wanted page much quicker. Q have again kept the red, black and white colour scheme going through out. On the right third of the page we can easily find our desired page, the large title’s and page numbers making this easier and quicker for the reader. Q uses a lot of serif fonts as this is commonly used to relay information to a reader in a formal sense. I really like the way this contents page is laid out and I feel I will take great inspiration from this.

Mix-Mag contents pageMix-Mag contents pageMix-Mag being a DJ magazine use a sans serif text through out the contents page. Making it an easy relaxed read for all. The page is cut off into several box sections, from the mast head to the ‘main’ information box placed in the middle of the page. The information placed in several individual boxes of which all are numbered and titled. The main article of the magazine is obviously placed with its large image. The bottom of the page is giving information on the magazines top ten downloads which they state you can buy on their web site (good use of advertising.) The page again keeps in with the colour theme’s of white, yellow and black. I really like the ‘box sections’ of the contents page and I feel I will use this for my design.
