The sessions provided at this conference are as relevant to the Nurseworking in a specialist aged care environment as they are to the Nurseworking in the Surgical Unit, Medical Ward, Medical Practice, CommunityService or Emergency Department.
There is a direct correlation between the knowledge and skill of theindividual Nurse and the health outcomes and potential quality of lifeissues experienced by the older person in their care.
The aim of this conference is to provide the Clinical Nurse who providescare for people over the age of 75, an opportunity to gain a greaterunderstanding of some of the key areas of clinical practice that can impacton the health care outcomes of their clients.
With an ageing society the group of clients aged 75 years and over willcontinue to form a greater percentage of the clients utilising health careservices. As Nurses, we have a responsibility to be aware of the specialistknowledge required to competently care for this client group.
The sessions are provided as a mixture of face to face sessions (FF), selfdirected reading material (SD), and recorded webinars (W). The webinarsand the selfdirected reading material are provided to attendees prior tothe commencement of the conference.
The attendee can view the webinars prior to the commencement of theconference as a selfdirected CPD activity or the session will also bepresented at the conference as per the program and the attendee can viewthe session in the conference room with a course facilitator present.
