IntroductionSHARPContentDistributorisusedtobuildanelectronicsignagesystemusingSHARPLCDmonitors.• Youcancopy(distribute)filesoverthenetworkfor“Autoplayback”toaUSBflashdriveorSDmemorycardconnectedtotheLCDmonitoronwhichthefilesaretobeplayed.Youcanalsoeasilycopy(distribute)filesfor“Autoplayback”toaUSBflashdrive or SD memory card connected to your computer. Forinformationon“Auto playback”,seetheoperationmanualfortheLCDmonitor.

• Youcanaccomplishtheentiretask,fromstartuptodistribution,bymeansofsimplesteps.• Youcaneasilysetadistributionschedule.

Content(file) Avideoorimagefiletobedisplayedorplayedonapanel.Pleasepreparecontentfilesyourself.

Content list Alistofcontentfilesthatyouarrangeintheorderyouwantthefilestoplay.Content information and the playback order are saved.

LCD monitorTousethissoftware,themanagementcomputermustbeconnectedtothesamenetworkastheLCDmonitortowhichthecontent will be distributed. ThefollowingLCDmonitorsettingsarerequired.Toconfigurethesettings,changetheinputmodetoamodeotherthan“MediaPlayer”.• Configure“LANSETUP”inSETUPmenu. SetFTPto“ON”.TheTelnetUsernameandPasswordcanbechangedbycontrolcommand.

• Set“POWERSAVEMODE”to“OFF”inSETUPmenu.• Set“NOSIGNALAUTOINPUTSELECT”to“ON”inSETUPmenu.• SetthetypeofthefilesaretobeplayedautomaticallyinAUTOPLAYoftheSETUPmenu.* ForinformationonusingtheLCDmonitorsettings,seetheoperationmanualfortheLCDmonitor.

System management cautions

n Before useBeforeusingthesystem,distributethecontentlisttothepanelandplaythecontenttoverifythatitdisplayscorrectly.Thecontentmaynotplaycorrectlyifthepanelhasinsufficientprocessingpower.Corruptedfilesandunsupportedfileswillnotplay.

n Continuous operation of management computerWhenusingthissoftwarecontinuouslyformorethan24hours,restartthemanagementcomputeronceaday.

n Automatic start of softwareTohavethissoftwarestartautomatically,setinthesettingsscreen.

n Management computer power settingsEvenwhenthissoftwareissettoscheduleddistributionmode,thescheduleddistributionwillnotbeexecutedifthemanagementcomputerisinsleepmode.Adjustthepowersettingssothatthemanagementcomputerwillnotentersleepmode.

n Using multiple management computersThissoftwareisnotintendedformanagementofasinglepanelbymultiplemanagementcomputers.Beforeregisteringapanel,make sure that the panel has not been registered by another management computer.

n BackupThissoftwaredoesnothaveadatabackupfunction.Duringuse,backup(export)thecontentlistandpanellistregularly.

n External memoriesForexternalmemorydevices(USBflashdrivesorSDmemorycards)thatcanbeusedwiththepanelandinformationonconnectingmemorydevicestothepanel,seetheoperationmanualforthepanel.

n ImagesWhenimagesaresetasthecontent,displayingthesameimageforalongtimemaycauseresidualimageonthepanel.Changethe image at regular intervals.

n Content that can be playedForthecontentthatcanbeplayed(supportedfileformats)onapanel,seetheoperationmanualforthepanel.

n Moving contentIfyoumovecontenttoadifferentstoragelocation,recreatethecontentlist.

n Panel operation during distributionDuringdistribution,donotperformanyoperationsonanexternalmemorydevice(USBflashdriveorSDmemorycard)thatisconnected to the panel.

n Other software applicationsWhenusingthissoftware,donotuseanotherTelnetorFTPclientapplicationatthesametime.

InstallThesetupprogramisrequiredinordertoinstallthesoftware.ReadythesetupprogramdownloadedfromthewebsiteorontheCD-ROM.

Caution

• Youmusthaveadministratorprivilegestoperformthisprocedure.

1. Exit all running software applications.2. Double-click the setup program. • Ifasecuritywarningscreen(“Thepublishercouldnotbeverified.”)appears,click“Allow”. • Ifthe“UserAccountControl”dialogboxappears,click“Continue”. Follow the instructions on the screen.

TIPS

• “.NETFrameworkVersion4.5.1”orhighermustbeinstalledonthecomputeronwhichthissoftwarewillbeinstalled.Ifamessageappearspromptingyoutoinstall“.NETFramework”becauseitisnotinstalledoranolderversionisinstalled,followthe instructions on the screen to install.

Adding or editing a panel

n Adding a panel1. Click . Theaddnewpanelscreenappears.2. Enter the information of the panel to be added.

Panelname* Setanamethatenableseasyidentificationofthepanel.

IP Address Set the IP address of the panel. You can check the IP address of the panel in the “INFORMATION”screen.

Location* You can set the location where the panel is installed and comments.

* Amaximumof32characterscanbesetforthepanelnameandlocation.Alphanumericcharacters,spaces,andsymbolscanbeused.Thefollowingsymbolscanbeusedinthepanelnameandlocation. !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~

• Click“Advancedsettings”toset“FTP(Username,Password)”,“Telnet(Username,Password)”. Thedefaultsettingsareshownbelow.Changetomatchthesettingsofthepanel. FTPUsername: admin FTPPassword: admin TelnetUsername: Notset TelnetPassword: Notset

3. Click “OK”.

TIPS

• A maximum of 20 panels can be registered.

n Editing a panel1. Select the panel you want to edit.

n Check the connection status1. Select the panel you want to check.

Deleting the Panels1. Select the panel or panels to be deleted.

Exporting a panel listYou can save the current panel list. All panels will be saved.

Importing a panel listYoucanrestoreapanellisttothestateitwasinbeforeitwasexported.Ifascheduleddistributionisset,reselectthepanelinthe scheduled distribution.

TIPS

• Whenyouimportapanellist,thecurrentlyregisteredpanelsaredeleted.

Creating/editing a content list

nUsablecontentfilesThefileformatsthatcanbeusedforcontentareindicatedbelow.Forthecontentthatcanbeplayed(supportedformats)onapanel,seetheoperationmanualforthepanel.Imagefiles .jpeg.jpgVideofiles .wmv• Donotuseafilethatislargerthan2GB.

n Creating a new content list1. Click .2. Enter a name for the content list and click “OK”. Thecontentlistiscreated.

n Changing a content list name1. Click .2. Change the name of the content list and click “OK”. Thecontentlistnamechanges.

n Adding content to a content list1. Select the content list to which you want to add content.

2.DraganddropacontentfilefromExplorer,orclick andaddacontentfile.

TIPS

• Amaximumofupto50contentlistscanbesaved.• Amaximumofupto30contentfilescanbeaddedtoacontentlist.• Contentlistsaredividedintoimagecontentlists( ) and video content lists ( ),dependingonthecontentaddedfirst.

Images and video cannot be mixed together in a list.• YoucanselectmultiplecontentfilesinExploreranddraganddropthemallatonce.• Thecontentfilesareaddedasthumbnailstothecontentlisteditareainorderfromlefttoright.Thenameofthefileandanumberindicatingthepositionofthefileintheplayorderappearbeloweachthumbnail.

• ThedisplayedthumbnailsarethesameasthethumbnailsthatappearinExplorer.• Ifthecontentfilelinkhasbeenbrokenbecausethecontentfilewasmovedorthenamechanged,theiconbelowappears.Deleteandre-addthecontentfile.

• Youcanaddthesameimagetothecontentlistseveraltimesinsuccessiontoshowthatimageforalongertimethanthesetchangingtimeoftheslideshow.However,displayingthesameimageforalongtimemaycauseresidualimageonthepanel.Takecaretochangetheimageperiodically.

• Youcancopycontentsinthe“Contentlisteditarea”toanothercontentlistbydragginganddroppingthecontentstotheotherlistinthe“Contentlistselectionarea”.

• Youcansortthecontentlistbydraganddrop.• Bydragginganddroppingcontenttoacontentlistinthecontentlistselectionarea,youcancopycontenttoadifferent

content list.

nChangingtheplayorderoffilesinacontentlist1.Selectthethumbnailofthecontentfile.2. Drag the thumbnail to change the order.

nDeletingthecontentfilesfromacontentlist1.Selectthethumbnailsofthecontentfiles.

2. Click . Youcandeletetheregistrationofthecontentfilesinacontentlist.ThefileswillnotbedeletedfromExplorer.

nEditingthecontentsofacontentfile1.Double-clickthethumbnailofthecontentfile. Thesoftwareapplicationassociatedwiththecontentfilelaunches.2.Editthecontentfile

3.Whenyouhavefinishededitingandsavingthecontentfile,updatetheinformationwith .

Caution

• Whenyouedit,theoriginalfileinExplorerisedited.

Deleting a content list1. Select the content list to be deleted.

2. Click .

3. Click “OK”. Thecontentlistisdeleted.

TIPS

• Whenyoudeleteacontentlist,anyschedulesinwhichthecontentlistissetarealsodeleted.

Copying a content list You can make a copy of a content list.

1. Select the content list to be copied.

2. Click .

Thecontentlistiscopied.

Exporting a content listYou can save a content list.

1. Select the content list to be saved.

2. Click .

3.Specifythenameandsavelocationofthecontentlistfile,andclick“Save”. Thecontentlistfile(.clist)issaved.

Importing a content listYou can import a saved content list.

1. Click .2.Selectthecontentlistfile(.clist)tobeimportedandclick“Open”.3.Specifythesavelocationofthecontentlistfile,andclick“SelectFolder”. Acopyofthecontentlistinformationandcontentfileissavedinthesavelocation,andthecontentlistisadded.

Distributing a content listYoucandistributethecontentsofacontentlist(copythecontentstoaUSBflashdriveorSDmemorycardconnectedtoapanelin a format that enables auto play).

1. Select the content list to be distributed.

2. Click . Thescreenbelowappears.

3. Select the checkboxes of the panels to which you want to distribute the content list. Todistributetoallpanels,selectthe“All”checkbox.4. Click “OK”. Thecontentlistisdistributedtotheselectedpanels.5. When distribution is completed, the distribution result appears. Check the result and click “OK”. Tocheckdetailedinformation,click“Showdistributionlog”.Thedistributionlogconsistsofthefollowinginformation.

TIPS

• Duringdistribution,donotperformanyoperationsonanexternalmemorydevice(USBflashdriveorSDmemorycard)thatisconnectedtothepanel.Thedatamaynotbeproperlyretained.

• Ifyoucancelwhiledistributionisinprogress,thepanelpowermayturnoffordatamaynotbeproperlyretained.• Ifdistributionwasnotsuccessful,youcanclick“Redistribute”toretrydistribution.• DistributionwillnotbepossibleifthereisinsufficientfreespaceintheUSBflashdriveorSDmemorycard.Inadditiontospaceforthecontent,workingspaceisalsorequired.Makesurethatthefreespaceissufficientlylargerthanthecontenttobe distributed.

Copying a content list to external memoryYoucancopythecontentsofacontentlisttoanexternalmemorydevice(USBflashdriveorSDmemorycard)connectedtothemanagementcomputer.Thecontentsarecopiedinaformatthatenablesautoplayonthepanel.

TIPS

• Youcanconnecttheexternalmemorywiththecopiedcontentstoapaneltoautomaticallyplaythecontentsofthecontentlist.Forexternalmemorydevicesthatcanbeusedandtheproceduresforoperatingthepanel,seetheoperationmanualforthe panel.

1.ConnecttheUSBflashdriveorSDcardtothemanagementcomputer. MakesuretheUSBflashdriveorSDcardiswritable.2. Select the content list to be copied.

3. Click . Thescreenbelowappears.

4. Select the external memory to which the contents will be copied and click “OK”. • Thecontentsarecopied. • Ifacontentlist(autoplayfiles)hasalreadybeensavedintheexternalmemory,thecontentlistwillbeoverwritten.

5. Click “OK”.6. Execute the removal process for the external memory and remove the external memory from the management

computer.

Whenyouconnecttheexternalmemorywiththecopiedcontentlisttothepanel,autoplaystarts.

TIPS

• Copyingwillnotbepossibleifthereisinsufficientfreespaceintheexternalmemory.Makesurethattheamountoffreespaceis greater than the size of the contents to be copied.

Adding or editing a scheduled distribution

n Adding a scheduled distribution1. In the content list management screen, select the content list that you want to schedule for distribution.

2. Click .

Thedialogboxbelowappears.

3. Specify the scheduled distribution settings. Set the items below.

Select panel Selectthepanelstowhichthecontentwillbedistributed.Todistributetoallpanels,select“All”.

Schedule name Specify the schedule to be set.Only schedules that have not been set will appear.

Content listThecontentlistnametobedistributedappears.Thiscannotbechangedwhenthescheduleddistributionisbeingsetfromthecontentlistmanagement screen.

Day of week Select the day of week on which the content will be distributed.

Time Select the time at which the content will be distributed.

4. Click “OK”.5. The screen for activating scheduled distribution mode appears. Click “OK” or “Cancel”. • Click“OK”toactivatescheduleddistributionmodeandstartscheduleddistribution.Whileinscheduleddistributionmode,

youcannotactivatethe“Content”tabor“Panel”tab,oraddascheduleddistribution. • Click“Cancel”tonotactivatescheduleddistributionmodeandcontinueworkinginthesoftware.

TIPS

• Amaximumofupto7scheduleddistributionscanbeset.Toaddascheduleddistributionwhen7havealreadybeenset,delete a previously set scheduled distribution.

• Whenscheduleddistributionsaresetonthesamedayofweekandtime,thescheduleddistributionthatappearsatthetopofthescheduleddistributioninformationareawillbedistributedfirst.Remainingscheduleddistributionswillbedistributedwhenthe previous scheduled distribution is completed.

• Ifthetimeforascheduleddistributionarriveswhileapreviousscheduleddistributionisstillinprogress,thescheduleddistribution will start after the current scheduled distribution is completed.

• DistributionwillnotbepossibleifthereisinsufficientfreespaceintheUSBflashdriveorSDmemorycard.Inadditiontospaceforthecontent,workingspaceisalsorequired.Makesurethatthefreespaceissufficientlylargerthanthecontenttobe distributed.

Immediately distributing a scheduled distributionYou can immediately distribute a set scheduled distribution.

1. Select the scheduled distribution to be distributed immediately.

2. Click . Distribution is executed.

TIPS

• Whenascheduleddistributionisdistributedimmediately,thedistributionresultdoesnotappear.Theresultisrecordedinthedistribution log by schedule.

• Ifyoucancelwhiledistributionisinprogress,thepanelpowermayturnoffordatamaynotbeproperlyretained.
