The reason for my or our views are: A restored St David's would provide a public dedicated place of remembrance not far from the war memorial museum. The fallen and their loved ones deserve respectful acknowledgement in an appropriate venue. Sadly, the war memorial museum has shuddering earthquake simulators running and museum visitors yahooing and laughing very loudly during the memorial services that I have attended at the museum. As a submitter I support the inclusion of St David’s Presbyterian Church, 70 Khyber Pass Road, Grafton, on the Council Schedule of Historic Heritage Places as a Category A heritage place. It's past and future as a place of remembrance need protection. I'd like to hope that in time it could again be a venue for services and quiet personal visits to remember the fallen in a way that those men would have found familiar and fitting.
