Scenario: Subscribe to a WebSphere Liberty service using the marketplace as a consumer

Goal: Demonstrate how a consumer can use a marketplace to subscribe to a WebSphere Liberty service, and create a WebSphere Liberty server.

Log into z/OSMF component of z/OS

1. Point the browser to the URL provided for use with this system.• If the browser asks to add an exception for the certificate, do so.

2. Click Log in

3. Log in with the consumer credentials that were provided to you.

Work with the Marketplace task

Expand the Cloud Provisioning category, then click Marketplace.

The Marketplace task is available to consumers and service providers.

Subscribe to a service

Click Subscribe.

The All Services tab displays all of the services that you can subscribe to using theMarketplace task.

1. Select the default tenant for Tenant.

2. Type Provision WLP in the Subscription Details field.

You can provide the values for the subscription on the Subscribe page.

3. Click OK.

A message indicates that your subscription to the WebSphere Liberty service is in progress.

An alert (the red circle with a 1 in it) indicates that you currently have one subscription to the WebSphere Liberty for z/OS service.

Click My Subscriptions to continue.

1. Copy the value for IP ADDRESS so that you can paste it later.

2. Make note of the value for HTTP PORT.

You can try the WebSphere Liberty server by supplying the IP address and port number from the service properties in the address bar of a browser.

The format is http://ip_address:port

1. Paste the IP address into the address bar of a browser window.

2. Add a colon (:), then the HTTP port number.

3. Press Enter.

You can try another sample application that tests the DB2 bind for the WebSphere Liberty server.

1. Change the name of the sample application in the URL in your browser to CloudTestJDBC.

2. Press Enter only once. There is a slight delay on the initial connection to DB2, so please wait.

Deprovision a serviceOnce a service is no longer needed, you can turn it off using the deprovision action.

1. From the Actions menu, select deprovision.

2. Click to deprovision.
