Workshop on the Psychology of Change Presenter: Shawn Bakker, Psychologist, Psychometrics Canada Ltd.Host: Victoria Buffam, DIALOG

On average, 70% of organizational change initiatives fail or do not result in sustained change*. Addressing the psychology of change, the natural reactions that people have when leading or responding to change, can make all the difference. In this session we will explore why and how people deal with change in different ways. We will discuss how people can leverage their strengths to more effectively manage change, and get buy-in for change from others. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about their change style by completing the Work Personality Index prior to the event. Each person will receive their personal results, and we will link them to change in the program.

You will learn:

• Why and how people deal with change in different ways.

• A logical approach for recognizing patterns of human behaviour during times of organizational change.

• How people can utilize what we know from personality research to enhance their decision-making and communication in order to increase involvement and buy-in from others.
