Project Type :

The implementation of this project will bring electricity to a population that still lacks access to energy. The living conditions of these populations will be improved and the project will generate direct and indirect jobs. In addition, the project is located outside Abidjan, thus it will help to slow the rural exodus. The project will not rely on fossil fuels, and will therefore reduce GHGs, thus contributing to the resolutions of COP21.

Construction of a solar power plant

The Cavally region is in the western part of the Ivory Coast, and has a very good solar irradiation (2.5 kWh / m2 / day). The country has a goal to achieve an energy mix con-sisting of 11% renewables by 2020. This includes the construction of solar power stations in cities with good irradiation. This project is therefore part of the overall energy vision of the country.
