One of our key strengths is our strength and depth in advising developers with new developments. We advise on all aspects of and have specialist expertise in sectors including offices, the full spectrum of residential schemes, including residential towers and other major schemes, affordable housing, private rental sector and student accommodation, together with hotels, retail and industrial schemes.
XDisputes
We deploy a strategic and intelligent approach when helping resolve disputes. If resolution cannot be achieved by early negotiation, we have substantial experience in the full spectrum of dispute resolution, from mediation, adjudication, expert determination, litigation and arbitration for both domestic and international projects. Together with our international colleagues, Taylor Wessing has a presence in the world's significant dispute resolution centres in London, Paris, Dubai and Hong Kong. We can mobilise and launch at very short notice significant resources for any project, anywhere in the world, if needed.
XEnergy
We have developed a key role in the energy sector, particularly for renewable energy developments across Europe, the Middle East and Asia but also extending also to conventional power projects. Our experience extends across solar, waste to energy, bioenergy, wind (onshore and offshore), nuclear and conventional power. We assist clients across the supply chain, including project sponsors, EPC contractors, technology providers, as well as investors and funders.
XFinance
Sources of finance have continued to evolve and our longstanding involvement in the sector means that we are well placed to advise not only developers requiring development finance but a significant number of senior and also alternative lenders, often involving sophisticated loan and security documentation.
XProjects and Infrastructure
Across a spectrum of sectors, we have expertise in advising on initial concept, design development, procurement through to financial close, delivery and operation. Our experience extends across Smart Cities innovation, energy, telecommunications, education, health, transport, waste and water. Apart from our construction legal input, we work with our other commercial, real estate and project finance colleagues for projects on the domestic and international stage.

Advising this Private rental Sector developer (backed by major US investor M3 Capital) as sole construction legal services provider on projects including major residential towers Helix in Canary Wharf and at Archway in North London, as well as schemes in Swiss Cottage, Tower Hamlets, Croydon, Maidenhead and Greenwich.
Brentford Football Club
Advising on all construction aspects for Brentford Football Club’s new 20,000 Community Stadium together with the enabling 1,000 Residential Units to be constructed adjacent to the Stadium and on the current football ground at Griffin Park.
City Pride Limited
Advising City Pride Limited and their developers Chalegrove Properties Limited (Chalegrove) on their plans to build a 239m (960ft), 75-storey tower, comprising 864 homes – one of the tallest consented residential towers in London on the former City Pride Pub site on the Isle of Dogs in London.
St. John’s Wood Square Limited
Advising on construction matters for the redevelopment of St John’s Wood Square, following its £250 million purchase by a Malaysian client. The scheme consists of private villas, townhouses, apartments and affordable units, as well as preserving Grade II listed aspects.
Cain Hoy
Advising on the forward funding for the development of two major new buildings at South Bank Place, currently the Shell Headquarters building, involving complex funding and procurement arrangements, as part of the redevelopment of the site.

Advising on office, retail and leisure sectors for development projects for PGIM, who have been one of the most prolific funders of senior and mezzanine development finance for projects in England and Scotland in the last year.
McLaren Group
Advising across their business divisions: as developer and also as contractor on projects including include the 50 storey Vauxhall Bondway scheme (aka Jenga Tower), various student accommodation schemes in England and office schemes in London.
The Blackstone Group
We act for Blackstone on all construction aspects and ongoing lettings in relation to a number of projects, including the redevelopment of properties in High Holborn and of docks / marina, offices, a restaurant, yacht club and public amenity space in east London.
Safra Group
Acting for a private investor on the purchase of 30 St Mary Axe, better known as ‘the Gherkin’, undertaking a review of the construction protection available to the client in respect of the original development and ongoing fit-out works undertaken by a complex procurement method.
Darchem Limited
Advising Darchem regarding their prospective joint venture and preferred sub-contractor status for works at Hinckley C nuclear power station. Using our specialist energy knowledge in the sector and our experience of large international energy projects as well as NEC based contract documents we will continue to advise Darchem up to and including practical completion of this project.
Nordex Energy GmbH
Acting for Nordex in respect disputes arising from delays to the delivery of a wind farm project in South Asia, and the delay liquidated damages and contractors’ loss and expense that arise from such delays. Our advice relates to protecting Nordex’s position in a complex contractual matrix between Nordex and the owner under the main EPC contract, and between Nordex and another contractor under a joint venture agreement.
Conergy UK Limited
Advising Conergy on a portfolio of solar power projects with a combined installed capacity of over 150 MW across 25 sites, located around the UK. We advised on the negotiation and agreement of the turnkey EPC Contracts and O&M Agreements for each site together with the ancillary documentation.
